Looking for a fun and family-friendly festive activity that doesn’t involve a trip to a mall? We suggest a ride on a Ngong Ping 360 cable car as part of this newly launched holiday experience.
The “Ngong Ping 360 x Red A Christmas Dream Factory” is a partnership with Red A, Hong Kong’s plastic manufacturer extraordinaire, made famous in the 1960s for crafting the iconic red lampshades and plastic stools found at wet markets across the city.
In honour of Red A’s 75th anniversary, Ngong Ping 360’s cable cars have undergone a transformation for the festive season. Some cars are decked out like Hong Kong cafés of days gone by, whilst others have a nostalgic herbal tea shop look.
Once you’ve been whisked 5.7km from Tung Chung to the top where Ngong Ping Village awaits, you’ll be greeted by a colourful Christmas playground themed around Red A. Classic booth games are also yours for the playing, including dart-throwing and ring-toss challenges, with prizes of discontinued Red A products and limited-edition 75th-anniversary collectibles.
We’re excited to check out the Red A exhibition at Ngong Ping Village, which showcases more than 200 items produced by Red A over the past 75 years, many discontinued or never before displayed publicly.
The Ngong Ping 360 x Red A Christmas Dream Factory experience is on from now until Jan. 1, 2025, open daily from 10AM till 6PM. To partake in the games, you’ll need to visit from 11AM till 5PM on a Saturday or Sunday until Dec. 22 or daily from Dec. 24 till Dec. 29 or on Jan. 1.
