Traditionally enjoyed during Chinese New Year, the poon choi meal is a Hong Kong and Chinese delicacy, translating to a big bowl feast or Chinese casserole. It is the centre of attention for any large family meal during this time of the year to celebrate during the change of the Lunar year.
Served in a large metal or wooden basin called a poon, the meal sees a plentiful serving of meat, seafood, vegetatables, and bean curd braised and sauteed in luxurious sauces.
