These days more than ever, we eat with our eyes first, and it’s become de rigueur to snap several shots of our dishes and drinks before taking a bite or sip. Of the thousands of F&B spots in Hong Kong, it’s cafés and coffee shops that tend to be the most focused on their social media aesthetic.
We’ve scoured the city to find the cutest and chicest cafés around – those that tower above the rest when it comes to their Instagram prestige.
Hong Kong’s most Instagrammable cafés
1. Cupping Room (Harbour City)
The Harbour City location of Cupping Room, a home-grown coffee roastery with six cafés in Hong Kong, is definitely the most Instagram-worthy of the lot, featuring large floor-to-ceiling windows with views out to soothing harbour views. Sit back and relax with your Espresso Bar, Filter Bar, Milk Bar, or Tea Bar beverage of choice whilst you wait for your turn to frame a shot by the window.

2. MUM’s NOT HOME
All goes awry when Mum’s away, and this also seems to be the case at this colourful and eclectic spot in Yau Ma Tei that’s been in business for around a decade. MUM’s NOT HOME is part hipster café specialising in creative plant-based cheesecake flavours and floral and fruit teas and part thrift store selling the likes of vintage clothing, accessories, and home decor. You definitely need to stay awhile to take it all in.

3. NOC Papillons & Bakery
Another locally founded premium coffee brand, NOC Coffee Co.’s location in Tseung Kwan O – NOC Papillons & Bakery – is our choice for offering the chain’s most eye-catching ambience. The spacious, airy design features a minimalist grey and white palette accented by pops of greenery. With sunlight streaming into this café, this is an ideal spot for enjoying brunch plates like avocado toast and eggs Benedict.

4. Halfway Coffee (Upper Lascar Row & The Peak)
There are seven locations of Halfway Coffee in Hong Kong (two in Sheung Wan), but it’s the original Upper Lascar Row shop that we head to the most for its chilled vibe and hidden, nostalgic-meets-modern setting near Man Mo Temple. We love taking pics of the café’s shelves lined with hundreds of traditional Chinese teacups and well-worn old-fashioned tables and chairs.
Halfway Coffee’s much newer location at The Peak competes for attention with its stunning views from the big picture windows and peaceful, artsy atmosphere.

5. Fullcup Planet Cafe
We promised we’d take you on an Insta café crawl to every corner of Hong Kong, and we meant it! Our next social-media hotspot brings us to eastern Kowloon’s To Kwa Wan for a look at Fullcup Planet Cafe. This Japanese-inspired café is a blast from the past, a floor-to-ceiling treasure trove of vintage furniture, artwork, and bric-a-brac. When you’re not snapping shots, you should be digging into Fullcup’s signature black Wagyu beef rice bowl.

6. Pane e Latte
Pirata Group’s seaside Italian café and bakery has been delighting diners since its debut in Stanley in 2021. Pane e Latte’s dreamy design includes floor-to-ceiling windows cloaked in transparent drapes, arches, terracotta floor tiles, and a ceiling made of woven reeds. The colour scheme is decidedly feminine with its pink walls, columns, and candy-cane-striped throw pillows. This is a place to retreat with an espresso in one hand and bombolone (Italian-style doughnut) in the other.

7. % ARABICA (K11 MUSEA)
With its clean, all-white design, the 18 branches of % ARABICA in Hong Kong have made a splash on the ‘gram, but it’s the outdoor K11 MUSEA location of this Kyoto-based speciality coffee chain that stands out from the pack. Set along the waterfront with stunning harbour views, % ARABICA is housed within a cube-shaped kiosk designed by world-renowned Dutch architectural firm OMA. Resembling a local dai pai dong with accompanying cubical marble chairs, KUBE (the kiosk’s official name) features aluminium panels made with a special anodised golden finish that changes colour as sunlight reflects on the material throughout the day.

8. Bacha Coffee (Harbour City)
Joining Cupping Room (see above) at Harbour City, Bacha Coffee’s new flagship Hong Kong location is the photogenic champion of the luxury Moroccan coffee brand. In addition to featuring a coffee boutique and takeaway counter, this concept store is the first in the city to offer a café space that’s styled after the lavish Dar El Bacha palace in Marrakesh. Guests can sit back and take in the glittering dining area whilst sipping on one of Bacha’s more than 200 varieties of 100% Arabica coffee, plus dishes ranging from the brand’s signature sweet and savoury croissants to traditional Moroccan meatballs.

9. Starbucks (Hong Kong Palace Museum)
Starbucks’ newly launched Chinese-inspired concept store at Hong Kong Palace Museum may be the most impressive to date for the global coffee giant. The thoughtful design of the harbour-view shop blends Chinese influences with bespoke works by three local artists, fitting for the museum locale, including a striking ceramic wall installation by porcelain sculptor Leo Wong inspired by the landscape of Yunnan.

10. commaa
Winner of the Foodie Forks 2025 Best Café award, commaa has been thoughtfully designed by LAAB Architects as a soothing, minimalistic community space merging coffee with art and unique architectural details in Sheung Wan. The café’s matcha latte is even better than its cups of joe, and the lighting holds a dreamy quality, no matter the weather outside.

11. Lo Yi Faateng (老二花廳)
Straddling the border of café and full-service restaurant, Mong Kok’s Lo Yi Faateng offers seriously nostalgic vibes in both its eclectic decor and Cantonese fusion menu spotlighting rice noodle rolls and silver needle noodles. Styled like a film set peppered with old-school gadgets galore, this spot is hip and funky whilst remaining true to the spirit of Hong Kong.

12. The Hideout
The journey to Mui Wo is worth it in order to experience the lush tranquility of The Hideout. You can book immersive art and wellness experiences at this Lantau Island farm, but in terms of coffee, The Hideout also features a café area overlooking verdant views where you can sip single-origin coffee sourced from local roasters accompanied by simple brunchy dishes and desserts.
