Hong Kong’s Thai dining scene has just got a whole lot more exciting with the opening of vibey Mama Tiger Noodles on Kau U Fong in Central.

The Thai noodle hotspot has been brought to the city courtesy of the same team who launched uber-popular Italian restaurant Trattoria Felino in Wan Chai. Mama Tiger Noodles’ kitchen is led by chef Thanit Changchai, who used to head up Bangkok’s famed boat noodle chain ThongSmith

We can’t wait to dig into chef Thanit’s slurp-worthy range of bona fide Thai soup noodle recipes. The Wagyu boat noodles (HKD158) and khao soi (HKD148) are the obvious choices, but there are other more off-piste options that are calling out to us too, including the thai suki (HKD168) with tiger prawn, squid, cabbage, scrambled egg, sesame seed, and glass noodles.

The handmade wontons also deserve a shout-out, coming in seafood (HKD148) and tom yum pork (HKD128) varieties, as do the funky appetisers of baby Chiang Mai hot dog (HKD88) with spicy sausage and aubergine paste and larb jellyfish (HKD118).
