Introducing a cuisine style rare in the city, Honky Tonks Tavern has launched a weekly pop-up featuring American-Chinese bites and drinks.
Hosted every Tuesday from 5PM till closing, the Honky Express pop-up returns with the flavours from a successful event hosted in 2024, sharing the fusion bites on a semi-permanent menu.
The pop-up menu features eight dishes inspired by North America’s Chinese takeaway and banquet food culture, including the sweet-chilli-drenched crab rangoons (HKD80), sweet-and-sour pork balls with rice (HKD120), prawn toast (HKD80), and the star item, the Peking duck pizza (HKD45/slice; HKD245/pie).
Two craft cocktails appear on the menu. The mai tai (HKD100) sees an intoxicating mix of white and dark rums, orgeat, dry curaçao, and lime, whilst the Long Island iced tea (HKD100) brings vodka, gin, tequila, rum, and dry curaçao together, topped off with lemon and Coca-Cola.
