With more than 100 years of history in South America, the continent’s famous yerba mate tea drink has come to Hong Kong with the opening of Samba Mate.

Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, the takeaway store sells an assortment of hold and cold Brazilian mate drinks that are priced from HKD26 to HKD38.

Yerba mate is a traditional South American herbal tea that’s rich in caffeine and herbal depth, sourced from the Paraná River that cuts through Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina. Health benefits from the drink include reduced inflammation, lowered cholesterol, and increased energy.

Samba Mate is currently operating during its soft-opening period, with more drinks and offerings set to come in late June and throughout the summer.
