6. Hutong

8. SOMM

SOMM’s brunch menu regularly undergoes a seasonal makeover by new chef de cuisine Jason Wolf, formerly of Michelin-starred Arcane. The standard brunch offering at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental’s modern European bistro is the SOMMkind of Brunch (HKD848 pp) package, a darling for its inclusion of 90 minutes of free-flow sparkling wine, seasonal cocktails, fresh juices, coffee or tea, and NORDAQ water. A handful of sharing starters and choice of main course and dessert complete this decadent brunch feast (make sure to save room for SOMM’s signature Abinao chocolate soufflé).

For a change of pace from the Western brunch norm, The Merchants is a fine option, offering refined Shanghainese cuisine accented with touches from the neighbouring provinces of Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The Belle Époque Brunch (HKD580 pp) by chef Chen Tian Long features free-flow appetisers, dim sum, soup, mains, rice and noodles, and dessert, so diners can certainly get their fill. The menu choices are quite extensive, though we highly recommend multiple orders of the jasmine-tea-smoked duck, meatball in sweet soy sauce, scallion oil noodles with dried shrimp, and picture-perfect xiao long bao. 10. Zuma

Zuma’s legendary weekend brunch has long been at the pinnacle of free-flow brunch listicles. The Japanese restaurant’s brunch offering has got even better now with the debut of the Shūmatsu Brunch (HKD788 pp), notable for its bottomless hot dishes up for grabs at the expansive baikingu station. This station presents a diverse assortment of Japanese-inspired delicacies, from the sweet potato and Japanese pumpkin tempura and shrimp and chicken karaage to the pork gyoza and saba with ginger and spring onion. 12. The Verandah

The bang-for-your-buck Spanish feast delivers five sharing tapas, unlimited paella of the day, and choice of main course and dessert. The Segovia-style roasted suckling pig is a signature main for good reason, beloved for its milky, tender meat and thin layer of ultra-crispy skin.

15. Sabatini Ristorante Italiano

Originating in Rome in 1958, Sabatini has been a stalwart at The Royal Garden hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui for more than 35 years, expanding a few years ago with a branch at ifc mall in Central. At both locations, the authentic Italian brunch menu (from HKD838 pp) begins and ends with a bang; an elaborate antipasti spread sets the grand scene, followed by either a seasonal special course or 10g caviar and a dessert table rounding off the meal with gusto. Chef Jorge Vera Gutiérrez’s three-course weekend lunch (HKD698 pp) is a US-inspired banquet of sorts, and we’re here for it. The menu begins with an assortment of sharing starters, including steak tartare and crab cocktail, and then it’s time for the main event. The New York strip or Delmonico rib-eye (+HKD298 for 2) are the obvious options, but the HENRY burger – 180 grams of dry-aged beef, American cheese, and pickles on a homemade brioche bun – is a worthy rival. Trattoria Felino’s new weekend brunch (HKD598 pp) has relaxed Italian vibrancy written all over it, especially with the inclusion of free-flow mocktails. Diners will be treated to unlimited starters and a choice of main course and dessert at this viral Italian eatery. Even better, guests can upgrade to exclusive brunch-only dishes that sound divine, including the veal Milanese for two (+HKD198) and chocolate cannolo (+HKD68). On the pasta front, we’re obsessed with chef Marcello Scognamiglio’s  scialatielli with zucchini, Pecorino, and basil oil, a humble traditional Italian recipe that’s become a desert-island dish for us.

With a name like Oyster & Wine Bar, the eatery’s Grand Sunday Brunch (HKD588 pp) has a lot to live up to. The harbour-view restaurant at Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel & Towers in Tsim Sha Tsui offers competitive pricing with this sensational brunch that’s inclusive of a signature seafood platter for two, two-hour free-flow Japanese sashimi, sushi, and maki, bottomless hot and cold appetisers, and a signature dessert platter. Main courses like the lobster spaghetti (+HKD298) and duck confit salad (+HKD298), as well as freshly shucked oysters (+HKD388/6pcs; +HKD688/12pcs) from around the world, can be added on to up the indulgence.

Associazione Chianti marries handmade pasta with exceptional steak cuts and is a fine choice for a brunch with all the best bits of Italian dining. The Tuscan trattoria’s weekend lunch (HKD588 pp) features a trio of antipasti, a pasta course of garganelli with Chianti beef ragù, and a meaty main – either the 450g bone-in striploin or 1kg bistecca alla Fiorentina (+HKD488). There’s no dolci or vino included, but these can be included if you so desire.
