The Pizza Project have responded to the haters (or lovers) of those who hate (or like) pineapple on pizza or Indian-flavoured pizza by unveiling their ‘Banned Collection’ this August.

The two limited-edition pizzas – Pineapple Pizza (HKD158) and Chicken Tikka Pizza (HKD168) – are coming to the chain’s two locations for the whole month of August available on à la carte menus or as a HKD20 add on for the set menu.

The former sees a meeting of tomato sauce and foir di latte cheese with cooked ham and pineapple chunks, with one massive pineapple ring layered on top, whilst the Indian-style pizza is packed with butter chicken sauce, chicken tikka, chillis, and coriander.

The Pizza Project says, in response to the controversy surrounding both pizza flavours, “the only way to settle the score is to try these new pizzas and determine if, indeed, being banned in Italy can turn these controversial creations into beloved dishes here in Hong Kong.”
