Hong Kong homegrown Basque burnt cheesecake purveyor Soulgood Bakery is fusing together traditions this Mid-Autumn Festival with a series of Basque snowy mooncakes. Featuring a creamy cheesecake centre and a glutinous rice flour exterior, four flavours are available this season, including original Basque, strawberry yoghurt, classic egg custard, and salted egg yolk for the four-piece box. An extra original Basque and salted egg yolk mooncake is included in the six-piece box.

4. Imperial Patisserie’s glorious lava mooncake trio

Imperial Patisserie returns this year for 2025’s Mid-Autumn Festival with fan-favourites made for gifting, especially with their decadent pastries. Their trio set features three different flavours of their ‘glorious lava mooncakes’, including lava custard, lava sesame, and lava red bean paste with mandarin peel flavours. Their mooncakes are Halal-certified too.

5. Hoi King Heen’s whisky chocolate mooncakes

Hoi King Heen is going big this year with Hong Kong’s first whisky chocolate mooncakes. The four-piece set is created using France’s premium Valrhona chocolate and infused with two Scottish whiskers, Ardray Blended Whisky and Bowmore 12-Year-Old Single Malt Whisky. Each mooncake is adorned with a stamp of Tiffany’s New York Bar, the sister venue to Hoi King Heen inside the InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong.

6. Big Grains’ tea garden mooncakes

East-meets-West bakery chain Big Grains is introducing their new tea garden mooncakes set for Mid-Autumn Festival featuring two flavours of tea-infused mooncakes. The matcha mochi custard mooncake and earl grey chocolate custard mooncakes. The matcha used in the former mooncake flavour is sourced from the established 300-year-old Marukyu Koyamaen chain from Uji, Japan.

7. Patisserie La Lune’s LuLu lava custard mooncakes

Patisserie La Lune joins hands with Hong Kong’s very own LuLu the Piggy for a fun mooncake box, featuring the character’s cheeky face stamped on each mooncake and decorating the box. Four lava custard mooncakes are included in each box, made extra custardy to ensure your mouth is filled with the soft sauce.

For the Mid-Autumn Festival, the mini chocolate egg custard mooncakes come onto the market. Inside the mini chocolate egg custard mooncake with toffee filling, savour a golden toffee filling, whilst the mini chocolate brownie chocolate egg custard is served within a fudge brownie shell.
