The news is official! The number two ranking bar on World’s 50 Best Bar, and the number one ranked Asia’s 50 Best Bar, Bar Leone is moving north for its second location in Shanghai.
Located in the hip Huangpu area of mainland China’s economic powerhouse, Bar Leone Shanghai will be styled in similar Italian populari fashion to the original and first Hong Kong, inviting locals and visitors to sip the true essence of Roman drinking.
In an Instagram post announcing the opening of Bar Leone Shanghai in late autumn 2025 on Sep. 9, co-founders Lorenzi Antinori and Justin Shum Wah said: “We are extremely excited and humbled to announce that will be opening this fall in the beautiful city of Shanghai!”
“Bar Leone was always meant to be a neighbourhood bar, celebrating conviviality and community. We can’t wait to join the thriving Shanghai bar scene, meet old friends and make new ones along the way.
“Finally, we wanted to sincerely thank all those who have supported us on this journey since the very beginning. We would be nothing with you.”
