The bar-hopping and drinks community of Hong Kong is in for some good news as big global names are set to arrive in the city for a series of bar takeovers ahead of World’s 50 Best Bars on Oct. 8

Prior to the global bars awards ceremony, held at Kai Tak Terminal Cruise, the 50 Best Signature Sessions returns to Hong Kong with six bar takeovers joining local Hong Kong bars and global leaders from Oct. 4-6

Honky Tonks Tavern kicks off the celebrations on Oct. 4 5PM till 9PM with the Pan-American Party, inviting Denver-based Yacht Club and Tres Monos from Buenos Aires to flex their Americas muscles. From 9:30PM, Call Me Al is hosting a one-night-only collaboration of 50 Best Bars Scholarship alumni Drew Fleming and Apoorva Kohli. 

On Oct. 5 2PM till 4PM, TokyoLima invites Tokyo Confidential from the Japanese capital to serve cool sips along with spicy snacks, with Gokan hosting an intimate evening session starting at 5PM featuring a number of the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender Award winners. 

Penang’s Backdoor Bodega brings Malaysian drinks and snacks to The Savory Project on Oct. 6 from 6PM, with Hope & Sesame from Guangzhou and Wing Lei Bar from Macau diving deep into Cantonese flavours at Ho Lee Fook at 6PM too.  

As expected, this will not be all. Last year’s Asia’s 50 Best Bars ceremony saw more than 150 bar shifts and events before, during, and after the celebrations. Keep your eye out for more news on Foodie.
