Bar Anima has thrust itself back into the Central bar scene with a new look and a menu that stands the test of time.

The bar’s manifesto of “Old Soul, New Hands. The Classics, Reconnected” sees a revised interpretation by lead mixologist Pei Cheung to modernise a range of classic cocktails. On the menu of 14 drinks, 10 showcase essential classics, with others featuring seasonal fruit flavours.

Joining the pack this quarter includes the Irish coffee (HKD210) using hand-poured speciality coffee, Bloody Mary (HKD210) made with Japanese Amela tomato, and the sweet and nutty Velvet Hammer (HKD160). The drinks are served with minimal flair but maximum flavour.

For snacks, the bar stocks the skirt steak sandwich (HKD200), Ibérico ham (HKD200), and garlic prawns (HKD210) amongst the cocktail-complementary dishes.

The bar is distinctly Japanese with its style of precise cocktail-making and classic red upholstery, jazz and pop soundtrack, and soft lighting.
