When it comes to refreshing summer meals, Indian food doesn’t usually come on top of the list, in part due to its rich, decadent flavour profile. However, modern Indian restaurant Bindaas aims to change this perception with their new summer menu full of delicious (and light!) bites that won’t stretch the waistlines.

Chef Mrigank Singh and his team drew inspiration for the new menu from all over the subcontinent, from crispy tokri ($88) potato baskets full of lentil dumplings drizzled in yoghurt sauce, to fish and chips ($138) with an aromatic crispy spiced crust. We adored the “dum” lamb chaap ($158), a succulent chargrilled lamb chop platter that reminded us of summer barbecue fun.  Naanza, an Indian equivalent to pizza, was also a great hit with the crowd. We particularly enjoyed the spicy tandoori seafood naanza ($128), blanketed with chargrilled fish, prawns, and squid.

There’s also a bevy of cocktails to cool down with, as well as live acoustic sessions every Tuesday and Thursdays to get the party going. Happy hour spans all week from 5pm to 8pm, with a flat 30% off all alcoholic beverages.
