In dining blowout terms, Easter may not rank as high as Thanksgiving and Christmas, but it does have one thing in particular going for it: loads and loads of sweets. Who doesn’t remember hunting for choccy Easter eggs as a kid? What about Cadbury Creme Eggs, jellybeans and neon-hued marshmallow Peeps? This year, we’ve hunted down the finest Easter treats around town – both sweet and savoury – for your eating pleasure.
Lee Gardens EGGssentially ART! Rugby Edition
We’re big fans of egg waffles here at Foodie, as our recent top list shows. Held over the long Easter weekend – Friday, 30 March–Monday, 2 April, 11am–7pm – the annual EGGssentially ART! event pays tribute to this classic Hong Kong street food. Featuring more than 10 eggette vendors, including acclaimed French restaurant Seasons, Michelin-recommended Mammy Pancake and modern Cantonese eatery Kasa, this year’s festival includes a crossover with Rugby Sevens featuring rugby-inspired elements. We can also look forward to milk tea tastings (the perfect accompaniment to egg waffles, in our not-so-humble opinion), live cooking demos and hands-on workshops, an eggette artwork installation, live music and arts and crafts stalls.

Easter-inspired cocktails at Wahtiki Island Lounge
The team at this tiki bar have been inspired by the iconic Moai statues of Easter Island to create quite a few tempting tipples for Easter including the potent rum-based Wahtiki’s Easter Island Grog ($150). Even better for us are the adorable Easter egg shots ($110 each or $300 for 3), flavoured with either white cacao, amaretto or melon, plus vanilla liqueur and chocolate sauce. Pair them with a homemade Scotch egg ($110) and you’ll be hopping around like the Easter Bunny. Available from 28 March–7 April, including as two-for-one specials during Wahtiki’s happy hour (Monday–Saturday, 5:30–8:30pm).

TWG Tea Party Tea
We love the whimsical packaging of Singaporean luxury tea brand TWG’s Tea Party Tea from its Haute Couture Tea Collection. Described as a black tea with a candy-like sweetness, we think it would make a fine accompaniment to an Eastertime afternoon tea experience. TWG is also offering a Spring Gift Combo ($498) that includes a canister of Tea Party Tea, a box of tea-flavoured shortbread biscuits and a jar of tea jelly – tea lovers, take note!
