EDIT, 2 AUGUST 2019: Impossible is going retail! Having just received FDA approval for its GMO heme from soy (which makes the product ‘bloody’) to be used as a colour additive, and partnering with OSI Group (an enormous supplier of food products) products will be on the shelves for consumer in the US in September. Stayed tuned for the first HK retailer.

A new version of the Impossible Burger has launched in Hong Kong and Macau. Impossible 2.0 features the same plant-based technology, except this version contains no wheat or gluten and has as much “bio-available iron” as real beef. The folk at Impossible also say that this new meat alternative has “improved taste, texture, nutrition and versatility.” Impossible is available in around 150 eateries in Hong and Macau, and the new version will be unrolled at places like Canadian burger chain Triple O’s and at all Classified restaurants.
