Lighting Central abuzz with its cool red-black theme and cross logo, new bar Dead Poets is swinging open its doors on Thursday, Dec. 7 for an official opening party, welcoming any and all who want to experience the daring new drinking hole.
Opened by Nikita Matveev of The Old Man fame, Dead Poets springs to life with a modish approach to mixology and drinking culture in Hong Kong.
“Don’t drink [from] a shopping list,” says Dan Nevsky, a Bar World Top 100 influential figure, who joins the bar opening for a guest shift. “Don’t drink Strawberry, Lemon, Mango, or Apple. Drink Innocent Bliss, Zesty Optimism, Exotic Euphoria, and Crisp Contentment. Drink emotion. Every single thing you’ve ever consumed is dead. So, why not make it poetic?”
Cocktails at Dead Poets are funky, hearty, fun
The cocktail programme at Dead Poets pays homage to the 27 Club, a collection of musicians and artists meeting their fates at the young age of 27, with drinks inspired and named after the great Winehouse, Morrison, Hendrix, and more.
In the daytime, the bar will operate as a barbershop in partnership with Sauce, as well as a café serving premium coffee and beer. See you on Dec. 7 at 7PM for the big opener!
