The seemingly never-ending festive season is over and January is upon us. We’re stuffed and dizzy from how much food and drink we consumed over the extended two-week-long period in Hong Kong. Now, it sounds like mocktails-o-clock is just the ticket.

To momentarily cut down on the liquor and enjoy a refreshing Dry January to kick us back into gear, here are four top mocktails to try during the month of January to sustain our love for great mixed drinks sans the strong alcohol.

LPM Restaurant & Bar

Refined French fine-dining spot LPM Restaurant & Bar is reintroducing their signature Dry January menu – Une Petite Pause – to give us a little break from our alcohol consumption, offering four cocktails crafted in a collaboration with non-alcoholic liquor brand Lyre’s. Watermelon Gazpacho (HKD88) mixes a blend of Lyre’s Dry London and LPM’s house-made watermelon and tomato gazpacho mix for a simple yet cool tipple.

If you’re not yet bored of the views of the Hong Kong Island skyline, there’s another reason to make your way over to HUE Dining on the Tsim Sha Tsui promenade for a mocktail of choice at the Australian dining venue. One More Mocktail (HKD90) aptly describes our habit for the month, pouring a soothing mix of caramelised orange syrup, lemon, and fancy lemonade to cure our December hangovers.

Quiero Más

In the mood for warmer, fruitier flavours? Quiero Más is a Mediterranean restaurant in Central that doesn’t stop delivering. What better way to bring in Dry January than with the Virgin Sangria (HKD98), a solid alcohol-free version of Spain’s signature drink. The mocktail brings together grape juice with a mix of watermelon, green apple, orange, mint, and sparkling water for a super-refreshing pour.

Terrible Baby

Jordan’s Terrible Baby is Kowloon’s most-happening bar north of the harbour, providing a cool vibe on the rooftop for sipping cocktails (mocktails this month) and enjoying loving company under the soft lighting and lush trees. Your friends might be tired of you proclaiming your Dry January challenge, so have a Cool Story Bro (HKD80) solo at the bar and enjoy the tropical notes of passion fruit, guava, pineapple, and lemon, along with hazelnut cordial for a nutty kick.
