Hosted at the Rosewood Hong Kong hotel on Jul. 16, Bar Leone ranked top in the 2024 rankings, lauded for its polished service, quality drinks programme, and strong community-building
Bar Leone claimed its deserving place as The Best Bar in Asia and Hong Kong at the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 awards ceremony hosted at the Rosewood Hong Kong hotel on Jul. 16.
Following its opening in June 2023, it was expected that Lorenzo Antinori’s bar would soon see critical success, with Hong Kongers quickly embracing its convivial ambience and Italian-inspired craft cocktails.
Nine Hong Kong bars have placed in the top 50 rankings this year: Bar Leone (1), COA (4), ARGO (9), The Aubrey (10), DarkSide (17), The Savory Project (19), Penicillin (24), Quinary (26), and Mostly Harmless (45). Eight Hong Kong bars featured on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2023 list.
The Savory Project, led by COA founders Jay Khan and Ajit Gurung, also made waves at the ceremony with their win of the London Essence Best New Opening Award 2024.
These newly minted Hong Kong bars join four other bars in the city from the extended 51–100 rankings on the list, including Mizunara: The Library (66), Honky Tonks Tavern (67), The Old Man (71), and Tell Camellia (97).
During the ceremony, the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s executive director, Dane Cheng, announced an exclusive three-year partnership with Asia’s 50 Best to bring the awards ceremony (restaurants, bars, or hotels – we will keep guessing!) back to the city in both 2025 and 2026. We look forward to more local award winners!
