The coveted fusion cuisine of itameshi, Italian dishes influenced and adapted with Japanese flavours and ingredients, can be found and enjoyed at Sagrantino in Central.
According to the restaurant, Sagrantino is the first Japanese-Italian fusion eatery operating in Hong Kong, dishing out Italian recipes with noticeable Japanese touches during lunch and dinner since 2007.
For lunch, their pasta set (HKD125) features special fusion dishes like shirasu with whitebait in anchovy sauce, taroko with cod-roe sauce, and salmone e crema with salmon. The grill set (HKD165) comes with a choice of lamb, salmon, beef, or chicken.
The restaurant’s fusion touch is more noticeable on the dinner menu. The shimeji (HKD120) mushroom and ebimayo (HKD140) shrimp and mayo pizzas both come with a light cream base. The avodanonara (HKD140) avocado carbonara and echino (HKD150) with creamy sea urchin sauce are quite unique to Central.
