With an aim to return to the basics of what makes drinking in Hong Kong quality, Bar Mind is officially opening next week (Jul. 27) with true minimalism in mind for cocktails and approach.

The new Elgin Street-located cocktail bar brings together couple Jo Lo and Birs Wong, of former fame from DraftLand, Room 309, to open their first project.

The bar’s raw interior, simple service, and brand-less bottles used to create the drinks centres on the bar’s philosophy to focus on human connection and flavours rather than style.

Drinks such as the stir-fried bitter melon-inspired A Taste of Home (HKD140), whisky and pu erh tea-paired Savory Sipper (HKD150), and Monk’s Sea Breeze (HKD140), which takes inspiration from a popular cha chaan teng egg drink, all reinforce Bar Mind’s Hong Kong connection.

Bar Mind is currently open during their soft opening, but officially open on Jul. 27.
