Those wanting to step out of their culinary comfort zone this winter should check out the “Heartwarming Winter Feast” dinner buffet held at Hyatt Regency Sha Tin’s Cafe for comforting flavours with a traditional local twist.

From now until Jan. 31, 2026, the lobby restaurant is partnering with Ser Wong Fun – the second-oldest restaurant in Hong Kong, founded in 1895 in Guangzhou – to offer a menu developed in conjunction with the Cantonese eatery’s fourth-generation owner, Gigi Ng.

Ser Wong Fun’s signature snake soup has been given a modern makeover at Cafe by executive sous-chef Giovanni Polcari and chef de cuisine Jacky Wan. Diners can dig into bowl after bowl of the soothing braised snake, chicken julienne, and almond soup and the festive braised snake, pork julienne, and ginger-pumpkin soup at dinnertime.

Claypot rice is another highlight of this hearty, winter-themed dinner buffet (HKD760 pp), featured in two inventive dishes by the chef duo: ox tongue claypot rice with cherry tomato, chilli, and coriander and preserved pork and duck liver sausage claypot rice with eel and preserved aged black bean.

For dessert, the chilled soybean and Yakult cake and apple pie egg waffle are standouts.
