Silver Spoon sister restaurants The Bayside and O’Thai have recently debuted their own adjacent harbourfront afternoon tea experiences that sound ideal for al-fresco noshing. Up first, The Bayside’s afternoon tea platter is a Mediterranean affair showcasing comfort-food bites the likes of the Spanish ham on crystal tomato bread, salmon tartare, Wagyu beef slider, and tiramisu.
Moving next door to O’Thai, sweet and savoury Thai flavours are the obvious choices for this set, from the crispy spiced soft-shell crab and chicken satay to the mango sticky rice.
Both afternoon tea experiences are priced at HKD148 for one, with a glass of Prosecco or sangria costing just HKD30.

2. Dim Sum Library

Reopened last May following an extensive revamp, sleek yum cha specialist Dim Sum Library has introduced a free-flow afternoon tea set presented in a charming birdcage-shaped tiered stand. Over the course of a two-hour period, diners can get their fill of creative all-you-can-eat dim sum, appetisers, mains, and sweets, including bestsellers like the dan dan xiao long bao, black garlic siu mai, Wagyu beef puff with black pepper, and oolong crème brûlée. The set comes with a complimentary tea-infused mocktail.

3. Cuisine Cuisine (The Mira Hong Kong)

To the joy of dim sum lovers around town, The Mira Hong Kong’s award-winning Cantonese restaurant Cuisine Cuisine has recently launched a weekday afternoon tea service – a first since opening 15 years ago. Dim sum chef Ringo Wong and executive pastry chef Smita Grosse have designed a showstopping East-meets-West set in tribute to Hong Kong’s culinary heritage. Amongst the many sweet and savoury yum cha bites on offer, the baked Yoshihama abalone puff pastry with chicken and Yunnan ham is presented in an ornate birdcage and the jasmine-tea-smoked jumbo pineapple bun with conpoy and BBQ pork is dramatically unveiled in a wooden treasure chest amongst a cloud of smoke. This quintessentially Hong Kong teatime experience is uniquely complemented by one welcome glass of Mindful Sparks sparkling tea per person.

4. Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

Over at the Grand Hyatt, Tiffin’s signature afternoon tea service has been made even more refined with the inclusion of a luxe tableside dessert trolley loaded up with gorgeous sweets for diners to pick and choose as they fancy – and that’s in addition to the restaurant’s popular dessert station dishing out unlimited ice cream, freshly made crêpes and waffles, and seasonal fruits. In classic fashion, the tiered portion of the tea set features a season-driven assortment of inventive sweets and savouries, from the crabmeat salad tart and smoked duck breast sandwich to the 70% dark chocolate crème and yuzu cheesecake.
From Apr. 13 to Jun. 18, Tiffin will veer towards a collaboration with sparkling tea brand Saicho, with the bites offered including accents of Darjeeling, hojicha, and osmanthus teas. For every two afternoon tea sets ordered, guests will receive a complimentary 200ml bottle of Saicho sparkling tea.

5. Magistracy Dining Room

At Magistracy Dining Room, chef Alyn Williams has put his grand stamp on the long-standing tradition of British afternoon tea. The chef’s teatime menu presents an array of sweet and savoury morsels that change with the seasons, such as stunners like the mini sausage roll, roasted chicken toasted crumpet, peach and cherry blossom cake, and matcha and apple choux. Enhancing these refined food offerings is an outstanding selection of British tea.

6. WATERMARK

Reopened last year at Pier 7 in Central, WATERMARK has amped up to its waterfront appeal with a sumptuous yet affordably priced afternoon tea set comprising four savoury and five sweet bites. Standouts on the savoury side include the seared Hokkaido scallop and lobster tartlet, whilst the strawberry cheesecake and mango and passion-fruit mousse cake are sweet stars.

7. JIJA by Vicky Lau

Chef Vicky Lau has launched a stylish Chinese-inspired afternoon tea, JIJA in the Living Room, at her new Kimpton Hong Kong restaurant, JIJA. Each item in the bespoke tiered stand – designed by the chef herself – takes diners on a creative journey through the flavours of Yunnan, from the Yunnan mushroom sando and braised lamb with rose tart on the savoury side to sweet bites of green tea ganache with almond frangipane and yuzu marmalade and milk chocolate layer cake with oolong Chantilly cream. For the not-so-traditional scone component, guests can enjoy salted egg scones with soy cream and Yunnan rose jam. The tea selection is particularly noteworthy, offering both rare Yunnan varieties and classic Chinese floral teas.

8. Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong (Gallery)

The afternoon tea experience at the Four Seasons’ Gallery all-day café has been reimagined, moving away from the classic tiered approach to a more modern presentation. An artful table spread of sweets and savouries awaits, to include an amuse-bouche of warm dashi custard with scallop and shrimp, hors d’oeuvres such as the British artichoke soup and foie gras confit with rhubarb jelly and melon, and Japanese-inspired seasonal pastries the likes of the sakura and Japanese white peach confection. An indulgent napoleon cake with vanilla sauce is served as the grand finale.

The best afternoon teas in Hong Kong 2026: spring-edition experiences
1. JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong

JW Marriott’s afternoon tea partnership with Finnish design house Marimekko has proved so popular that the collab has been extended throughout spring. In this set, the bites are inspired by Marimekko’s joyful prints, and even the tableware comes stamped with the brand’s iconic Unikko print. Traditional Nordic flavours are on show in the savouries, such as the Scandinavian shrimp salad and tobiko tart and pickled herring fillet with onion-dill salad. The beautifully crafted sweets take their cues from the muted pastel colour palette of Marimekko’s latest home collection.

2. Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong

Those matcha fans amongst us should head over to Hyatt Centric’s Cruise restaurant before June hits for a taste of this union with home-grown matcha specialist Matchali. Along with an immaculate hand-whisked matcha latte, diners can dig into a wide array of matcha- and hojicha-flavoured delights, such as the matcha yuzu tart, matcha and mochi Swiss roll, Wagyu katsu sando with matcha shokupan, and tuna tartare with hojicha miso cream and Oscietra caviar. All-you-can-eat red bean dorayaki with hojicha cream and seasonal ice cream make this teatime experience even sweeter.
The Matchali-inspired afternoon tea is priced at HKD688 for two. The set comes with two buy-one-get-one-free drink vouchers for use at Matchali’s shops, as well as complimentary three-hour access to the hotel’s swimming pool from 12PM to 3PM on the same day.

3. The Silveri Hong Kong–MGallery

An afternoon tea collaboration with a Swiss watchmaker is a first for us! We’re intrigued by this teatime partnership with Breitling, hosted at the The Silveri hotel’s cocktail bar The Pavilion with its lush outdoor seating space overlooking Tung Chung Bay and the hills of Lantau. To go along with the display of Breitling’s best-selling timepieces over the years, the bites have been inspired by the watchmaker’s Air, Land, and Sea collections, in particular the savouries of mini lobster roll with homemade XO sauce, foie gras beef burger, and abalone tartare.

4. W Hong Kong

Narciso Rodriguez’s signature “for her” and “for him” fragrance collections take pride of place at W Hong Kong’s WOOBAR this spring. The sweets on display form the heart of this aromatic teatime journey, taking their creative power from the newly unveiled “for her” Pure Musc Blanc and “for him” Musc Santal alter-ego eaux de parfum. The orange blossom dessert starring jasmine and orange marmalade, tonka bean cake with bergamot and osmanthus jelly, and layered vanilla dessert featuring Japanese peach and vanilla ice cream are the stunning sweet contenders. 5. InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong

InterContinental Grand Stanford’s Italian restaurant The Mistral is currently serving up a delightful seasonal afternoon tea highlighting pours of Perrier-Jouët champagne (one glass per guest). The savoury bites inventively combine Eastern and Western flavours, most notably in the prawn tartare with mango, chilli, and coconut foam and smoked salmon and yuzu blini. The sweets, including the lemon tart and madeleine with fig and mascarpone cream, are more classic (but no less delicious) in nature.

6. Upper House Hong Kong

Single-malt Scotch whisky meets premium tea at Upper House Hong Kong with this dual partnership with The Macallan and JING Tea hosted at the hotel’s top-floor restaurant, Salisterra. This collaboration celebrates the fifth edition of The Harmony Collection, an innovative annual series by The Macallan dedicated to exploring future packaging techniques and designs through the use of natural materials. Diners can get stuck into a quartet each of sweets and savouries, with the Scottish cured salmon, tea-smoked chawanmushi, and 66% dark chocolate whisky millefeuille the menu standouts for us.

7. The St. Regis Hong Kong

The St. Regis Hong Kong’s seasonal afternoon tea adventure at The Drawing Room sees Saicho’s fragrant jasmine and hojicha sparkling teas take the spotlight, with each delicacy designed to enhance the bubbly beverages. On the jasmine side, umami pairing bites include the tuna tartare, foie gras rose, and jasmine grapefruit cake, whilst the Hokkaido scallop, green asparagus tartlet, and hojicha gianduja cake have been crafted with hojicha’s roasted, nutty notes in mind.

The seasonal multi-course afternoon tea sets at Hotel ICON’s lobby lounge GREEN often take a health-conscious approach as summer approaches. This spring, it’s matcha’s toasty, nutty cousin, hojicha, that is put on a pedestal in a series of six low-GI hojicha desserts crafted with 180-year-old Kyoto Uji hojicha, lactose-free milk, almond flour, and lotus-root powder. The low-GI and high-protein appetisers and mains are just as guilt free. Highlights of the menu include the seared Cajun shrimp with hojicha jelly, oven-roasted black cod fillet with creamy spinach and avocado salsa, hojicha panna cotta with cream cheese foam, and hojicha burnt cheesecake.

9. The Park Lane Hong Kong

A prelude to summer, the Provence-inspired fragrance Cap Camarat by perfumery Memo Paris is the theme for this vibrant afternoon tea set at The Park Lane’s Ebb & Flow lobby lounge. The bold primary colours and sleek look of the set come courtesy of Italian artist Olimpia Zagnoli, who designed the bottle and packaging for the Parisian fragrance house. The salty portion of the experience begins with the likes of the smoked salmon and beetroot sandwich bites and salami cups with caprese salad. For sweets, guests will indulge in red-hued dainties including the pink rose and jasmine choux and morello cherry and tonka bean macaron alongside the vanilla latte with dried rose on the beverage side.

10. Regent Hong Kong

A tribute to the flavours of both France and Hong Kong as part of the annual French GourMay celebrations in the city, this refined afternoon tea set at Regent Hong Kong is a fusion work of art by executive pastry chef Andy Yeung and head chef Raymond Yip. The savoury tier offers diners the best of both worlds with the char siu puff with Périgord truffle purée and mini pineapple bun with foie gras terrine and red onion compote. The sweets also bridge East and West, notably with the magnificent choux pastry known as the Paris-HK Brest. 11. The Blooms by ÉPURE

The charming al-fresco garden at Michelin-starred ÉPURE is the setting for this afternoon tea in partnership with renowned French skincare company Ingrid Millet, with the refined sweets and savouries infused with the brand’s gold colour palette. Headlining bites include the smoked salmon choux, duck foie gras tartlet, golden mango mousse, and crunchy caramel hazelnut confection.

Over at the Hong Kong Museum of Art, in-house modern Mediterranean restaurant MoA Dining has unveiled an afternoon tea set celebrating the unveiling of two of Claude Monet’s water lilies masterpieces at the museum for a limited time. Instead of a tiered presentation, the set features a tasting plate of four plant-based items – the savoury mushroom custard bun and sweet strawberry tart, lemon and candied thyme macaron, and scone with roselle jam and jasmine cream – paired with tea or coffee (and MoA Dining’s stunning harbour views).
