At Wellcome’s new concept store, located in Yau Ma Tei, customers can pick up throwback glass bottles of Coca-Cola and warm Vitasoy, delight in the nostalgic local snacks, and pose for pictures amongst the heritage decor themed around the Hong Kong of the past decades.
A first for Hong Kong’s largest home-grown supermarket chain, founded in 1945, the design of Wellcome’s 1950–70s-themed concept store is truly immersive – think neon-inspired LED signage, a turnstile entrance, red plastic lamps, a vintage TV set, old-school street signs, and plenty more blast-from-the-past memorabilia.
On the snacking front, we’re looking forward to the shop’s selection of classic Hong Kong goodies, including Yuhin dragon’s beard candy (HKD19), Wah Yuen ding ding candy (HKD19), and Young Master Brewery’s salted lime gose craft beer, Cha Chaan Teng Sour (HKD30).
