Founded in 2011 and residing in Kennedy Town for the past 15 years, Bistrot du Vin has a new lease of life (and an extra “t” in its moniker) nestled within The Fine Wine Experience in Sai Ying Pun, where another French bistro – Bȃtard – once stood.

Hosting the same Gallic charm as its former space, the new-and-improved Bistrot du Vin places an even greater focus on wine-led dining, now housing over 1,200 labels alongside its quirky flea-market finds from France and vintage bottles lining the walls. At the heart of the wine cellar is a 30-person-long table that looks ideal for group celebrations.

New chef Guillaume Losguardi has refreshed the restaurant’s menu to highlight hearty, rustic French classics. The house-made pâté en croûte (HKD200), baked marble goby en croûte (HKD910), short rib parmentier (HKD320), and tarte tatin (HKD320) are standout plates made for sharing.

On the wine front, Bistrot du Vin’s bottles are offered at retail prices, notably without the conventional mark-ups associated with restaurant dining.
