I'm just going to launch straight into the real foodie element here: unlimited cheese and charcuterie – oh yes, and wine too.
Wine-derlust Wednesdays at W Hong Kong's WOOBAR start at 8pm and continue until 10:30pm and include limitless red/white wine (be careful – the pours are generous), an island full of lush cheeses, various cold cuts, freshly baked breads and preserves and a vibey atmosphere from the lofty, contemporary bar. This is the ideal remedy for a mid-week slump. There's also a rich, creamy fondue station with toasted cubes of bread for dipping – the smell alone will pick you up for the rest of the week.
We also got to take in Hong Kong's own DJ Olivia, a Juilliard grad who intersperses timed bursts from her violin with her deep techno house sets that set the room into a clubby spin.
WOOBAR at the W is a quick hop across the water to get a good dose of urban views from this playful space full of bright young things indulging in the pumping music and unlimited drink and bites. They recommend reservations as it gets busy; people love deals (thumbs pointing inwards) and free-flow wine, cheese and cold cuts. It's very simple – and very enticing for those hump day blues (or any other colour).
