Boarding has gone up on the former location of BrewDog’s bar in Hong Kong, signalling an end to the beer chain’s return to the city.

However, the closure comes with the imminent opening of Goose Island Taproom, as advertised at the Lyndhurst Terrace address.

Communication with BrewDog Hong Kong’s team has confirmed the opening of the new taproom in mid-April, bringing Goose Island’s IPAs, stouts, pale ales, pilsners, and wheat ale.

Goose Island is owned by Anheuser-Busch, an US-based conglomerate with a portfolio of beer brands like Budweiser, Bud Light, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, and Busch.

BrewDog is majority owned by private equity company TSG Consumer Partners.
