For the first time ever, Hong Kong will be welcoming Eat Spain Drink Spain 2025 from Oct. 1-15, a celebration of Spain’s flamboyant culinary traditions, tapas culture, and quality wine.

During the two-week-long programme, expect limited-time Spanish menus, deals, and events at Spanish and Chinese restaurants, discounts online for Spanish produce and wine, and workshops across Hong Kong.

Eat Spain Drink Spain 2025 is organised by the Spanish Trade Commission in Hong Kong and Food and Wines from Spain, co-funded by the European Union to extend the passion and romance of Spain’s gastronomy to Hong Kong, a city that loves to dine.

Below is a taste of the best things happening in early October during Eat Spain Drink Spain 2025 in Hong Kong. In total, 23 restaurants, nine online shops, five workshops and tastings, and three physical stores will be hosting celebrations this October! 

1. San Sebastian night buffet at 1862 Bar de Tapas y Vino

Tai Kwun’s very-own Spanish tapas emporium 1862 Bar de Tapas y Vino has imported the flavours of Spain’s tapas-capital San Sebastian to a one-night-only buffet. On Oct. 14 from 7PM to 10PM, prepare for a feast with their San Sebastian night buffet (HKD888 pp.), including a refreshing selection of grilled scallops, bacalao pil pil, mussels croquetas, gilda, grilled lamb on toast, and two special drinks: txacoli dry white wine and patxaran liquor.

2. Tasting lunch set and tapas deals at Café Costa del Sol

Located in Tsim Sha Tsui’s central neighbourhood, Café Costa del Sol promotes all things tapas with grand selections of paella, salted meats, seafood, pinchittos, and desserts. Through the length of Eat Drink Spain Drink 2025, Café Costa del Sol is offering a tasting lunch set (HKD168) with a paella, bocadillo sandwich, and three tapas. 3. Traditional Spanish tapas at El Vaso de Oro

The diversity of Spain’s tapas cuisine is on full show from Oct. 1-15 at El Vaso de Oro with nine limited-time dishes from Andalusia, Basque, Catalonia, Galicia, and Madrid. The signatures on the menu at this Sheung Wan Restaurant include baby shrimp fritters (HKD128), beef tripe stew with chickpea (HKD148), fresh clams with rice in green sauce (HKD198), crispy pig’s ear with Madrid-style brava sauce (HKD118), and stuffed mussels (HKD28, pc).

4. Spanish tasting menu at Ping Pong 129

Sai Ying Pun-based gin bar Ping Pong 129 is hosting a Spanish tasting menu (HKD380 pp.) from Oct. 2-9 to promote the best of the country’s flavours in a trendy setting. Starting off with tapas platter with crystal bread with tomato and arbequina oil, Basque sausage Txistorra, and galician padrón peppers, the main dish of the menu includes a pick of slow braised beef cheek in Rioja wine with mashed potatoes and vegetables or fried rice with squid. The menu ends with a soothing lapsang souchong ice cream with churros.

5. 10-course dinner menu at La Paloma

Celebrating 10 years serving quality Spanish food in Hong Kong this October, La Paloma have joined in on the fun for Eat Drink Spain Drink 2025 with a 10-course dinner tasting menu (HKD498 pp.) available from Oct. 1-15. 6. The Battle of Wine night at El Cerdo

El Cerdo in SoHo is inviting diners to experience what could be Spain’s most wine-fuelled event of the year, The Battle of Wine (HKD888 pp.), celebrated annually in La Rioja, Spain. On Oct. 18 from 7PM to 10PM, dive mouth first into a free-flow of Riojas wine and sangria with a meat-focused buffet at El Cerdo. For bites, expect meatballs, pork belly, meat paella, gambas, cold cuts, and more. Just make sure to leave the night with your red wine-stained t-shirts, as is tradition in La Rijoa.

7. Limited-time Iberian ham special sandwich Casa Ibérica

Tai Ping Shan’s al-fresco Ibérico ham store Casa Ibérica is flying the Spanish flag for Eat Spain Drink Spain 2025 with a limited-time special sandwich from Oct. 1-15. The juicy sandwich contains 100% acorn-fed Iberian ham from Guijuelo, cured for 64 months, with melted truffle Manchego cheese and fresh grated tomato, extra virgin olive oil and freshly baked crystal bread. 8. Spanish-themed meal sets at Mirage Bar & Restaurant

The Wan Chai-based contemporary dining space Mirage Bar & Restaurant, located prominently inside the grand Renaissance Hotel, is launching a Spanish-themed lunch and afternoon tea set to promote the strength of Spanish tapas, paella, meats and seafood, and desserts. Be sure to try their fried calamari balls, garlic shrimp in olive oil, Spanish duroc bone-in pork chop, and churros.

9. El ‘Buen Camino’ menu at Rústico

Rústico, a homely Spanish restaurant located in Lai Chi Kok, is launching their El ‘Buen Camino’ promotion from Oct. 1-15, an à-la-carte menu comprising signature dishes from towns and cities along Spain’s pilgrimage network Camino de Santiago from the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela. 10. Spanish wine tasting at Hong Kong Wine Academy

Earn yourself a first-hand experience of the beauty of Spain’s vineyards with a range of wine tastings to please your palate. On Oct. 11, Hong Kong Wine Academy is hosting a Spanish wine tasting (HKD780 pp.) exploring eight wines from Spain’s premier wine-making regions, including Rijoa, Rías Baixas, Ribera del Duero, and Priorat. The tasting workshop will introduce Spain’s main grape varieties, winemaking styles, and serving and pairing suggestions.
