As I’m certain most of you reading this already know, Jamie Oliver opened up his first Hong Kong restaurant less than a year ago in the foodie-haven district of Causeway Bay. This restaurant was an instant success and remains an ever-popular establishment in the city, so it’s no surprise that the new Jamie’s Italian TST offers diners a menu comprised of staple Italian comfort foods with a unique twist, along with a gorgeous (and massive) venue that is atypical to most restaurants you’ll find in HK.

The Restaurant

From the moment you step inside the restaurant you might feel as though you’ve been transported to another city (we sure did!) with its massive ceilings, ample floor and patio space, and rustic yet modern decor. Jamie’s Italian TST is very open-concept; you’ll initially walk past the bar area, which is comprised of a little cafe with seats at the counter to watch your cappuccino being carefully crafted, as well as a few booths and a pizza bar where you’ll have front row seats to the pizza chefs working their magic. This is one of the few Jamie’s Italian restaurants worldwide that have an open pizza oven, so trying a pizza on the menu here is a must.

Food

The TST location offers a handful of dishes that aren’t available in the CWB branch, so even if you’re a regular at the other Jamie’s Italian, you should definitely check the new location out.

Starters

For starters, you should try the ricotta bruschetta ($68) or the fresh crab bruschetta ($70) that are made specially in their pizza oven. If you’re looking for something a bit different, we suggest the Italian nachos ($68) made with fried cheese ravioli.

Mains

The pizzas is a new addition to the menu exclusively for the new Kowloon branch, and here they’re delicious and fresh, so you can’t go wrong with any option on the menu. The Fiorentina ($158) has a perfect mix of ricotta, buffalo mozzarella, spinach, broccoli, and anchovies, with a free range egg on top. The funghi misti ($168) was also a big hit with its truffle cream and mushrooms.

If you’re wanting to try something other than pizza, we highly recommend the beef osso bucco ($198) with its incredibly tender slow-cooked beef or the wild truffle risotto ($148).

Dessert

Who could ever say no to a delicious dessert, especially when there are so many great choices at Jamie’s Italian TST?! Their tangy pineapple & frozen yoghurt ($68) is a real unique treat for your taste-buds. We loved how delicious and light this dessert was – perfect for when you’ve gorged on all the appetizing apps and mouth-watering mains.
