Halloween has just ended. Know what that means? It means it’s time for jolly feasts of oodles of turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potato and pumpkin pie. It means you now have a glorified reason to dig out your stretchy pants again.
Yep – it means Thanksgiving (and then Christmas!) is impending.
Because no one has the time to roast a turkey or even a sizeable oven to begin with here in HK, we have taken the initiative to sum up some of the best dine-in and catering services offered in town this November (stay tuned for another Christmas round-up). Dive in on those turkeys!
Morty’s Delicatessen
For the seasons of giving, Morty’s Delicatessen has designed a delectable package that feeds up to 14 people, priced at $2,788. Highlights are a whole roasted American turkey (9–10kg) cured with a combination of dried spices including coriander seed, mustard seed, oregano, thyme and bay leaf, Morty’s herb-apple smoked bacon stuffing and Martha’s apple pie. Other dishes include mashed potato, sweet potato mash, gravy, cranberry sauce, cornbread, assorted root vegetables, wild grain rice and homemade blueberry cheesecake. The package is available for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Other festive items are offered individually too. Orders must be placed three days in advance and can be picked up or delivered.

The Parish
The Parish will be serving a three-course menu for $398 on 23 and 24 November. Your feast will begin with a choice of fire-roasted parsnip soup with crispy pancetta and sage croutons or heirloom tomato and beetroot salad, followed by a substantial traditional Cajun spice-rubbed deep-fried turkey with spiked sweet potato purée, cornbread stuffing, honey poached carrots, green bean casserole with crispy onions, Brussels sprouts with bacon maple glaze and giblet gravy, before ending the meal with a choice between spiced pumpkin pie with cinnamon Chantilly cream and homemade apple pie with vanilla ice cream. They are also offering whole Southern-style deep-fried turkeys with all the trimmings, enough to serve 8–10 people, available for collection at the restaurant, at $1,800.

Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong
The luxury hotel will be cooking up whole turkeys and delivering them across Hong Kong this year. The birds will come with sides of sweet potato mash, roast pumpkin, stuffing, cranberry sauce and giblet gravy. If turkey isn’t your poultry of choice, MO is also thoughtful enough to offer the option of having honey-glazed ham and Madeira sauce in place of the turkey. Those who want to go full-on Turkey Day crazy could opt for the Family Feast, which includes a roasted turkey with all the trimmings, a choice of pumpkin pie or salted butter pecan pie and two 550ml bottles of organic apple cider.
Thanksgiving orders will be available until 21 November and for delivery only, starting at $2,788 for a 7kg turkey, $3,288 for a 10kg turkey or $3,988 for the Family Feast. Delivery can be arranged with two days’ advance notice.

Stone Nullah Tavern
When it comes to anything American, Stone Nullah Tavern is as qualified as it gets. From 21 to 27 November, head to the restaurant for their hearty Thanksgiving dinner set menu at $548 that includes a seafood platter followed by a choice of garlic butter roasted turkey or Southern fried turkey with black pepper and bourbon gravy and caramelised onions, with apple and Cheddar stuffing, pulled pork mac ‘n’ cheese and more on the side. To finish, dig into servings of skillet apple crumble and skillet s’mores. Free-flow drink options will be available at $198 per head for Prosecco, red/white wines and house spirits with mixers or $308 per head for champagne, craft beer, premium wine and house spirits with mixers. A pre-order dinner serving 4–6 people with a slightly less extensive menu is available for $3,000, while those who prefer having the feast in the comfort of their own home could opt for the same pre-order menu for $350 a person, with no minimum number of diners.

The Peak Lookout
What better location to celebrate the special occasion than in a 19th-century Grade II historical building overlooking the South China Sea? For $468 on Thursday, 24 November, this restaurant on the Peak will be serving a four-course all-day menu that includes crab and avocado salad, chestnut soup, roasted turkey roulade and pumpkin pie.
