I think one of humankind’s greatest inventions is the grilled cheese sandwich. No matter the occasion, grilled cheese always lives up to the expectation. It’s super simple to make at home, but for times where you feel like having a quick yet indulgent pick-me-up during your lunch hour, or even a grilled cheese dinner, I’ve got your back.

KALA Toast

This rainbow toast ($35) at KALA is so kala-ful! Indulging in grilled cheese is a source of happiness on its own, but when your toastie is this colourful and playful, it’s double the happiness! And if you’re slightly put off by the thought of food colouring injected into cheese, don’t be – a mash-up of four cheeses (mozzarella, Cheddar, Emmental and Gruyère) is infused with different natural flavours like basil (which makes the green), lavender (which makes the blue) and tomato (which makes the pink). If you’re not feeling the rainbow toast, there are other varieties such as durian, purple sweet potato and coffee-cheese as well.
