If you’re looking to get up to something wild this Thursday night, CHINO might have the answer. This modern Mexican establishment in Kennedy Town is bringing one of Tierra Azteca’s finest exports to Hong Kong for a whirlwind, one-night-only dinner in collaboration with boutique distillery Tequila Ocho.
Fruit tomato salad
We’re looking at a mouth-watering menu that includes ceviche in burnt habanero aguachile, fried oysters with yuzu tartare and roasted duck with negro mole, as well as a selection of tostadas with toppings ranging from spicy tuna poke and arbol miso to classic pulled pork with pickled onion. Taco lovers will want to dig into the crispy fish taco, served with chipotle Kewpie mayo and salsa fresca.
If you’re feeling slightly thirsty at the sight of the menu, know that all courses will be knowledgeably paired with different offerings from the Tequila Ocho line. Brand ambassador Jesse Estes – of the Estes family, who jointly created this agave spirit with the Camarenas family – will be on board to lend his expertise and ensure that you’ll be knocking back handcrafted tequila all night. As the only single-estate tequila on the market, Tequila Ocho secures its supply of agave from different estates at varying altitudes and microclimates. These agaves then take 7–10 years to mature, and each resulting vintage is a rare, once-in-a-decade flavour experience.
CHINO’s Tequila Ocho pairing dinner ($688/person) will take place on Thursday, 14 March 2019, with two seatings (6pm and 8:45pm).
