Modern Mexican restaurant Cosme in New York City is the dominion of chef-partner Daniela Soto-Innes, just announced as this year’s elit™ Vodka World’s Best Female Chef 2019.
The Mexico City native made the United States her home at the age of 12 and has worked in restaurants since the age of 15, going on to train at Le Cordon Bleu in Austin, Texas, before spending many years in the industry honing her skills.
She returned to do a stage back in Mexico City under renowned chef Enrique Olvera, who made her chef de cuisine at his new restaurant, Cosme, in the Big Apple. Rapidly in the years that followed, Cosme and Soto-Innes have been racking up the accolades for their reimagining of modern Mexican food.
The videos commissioned in advance of the release of each world and regional 50 Best list, giving insight into a chef’s kitchen and way of working, are one of our favourite elements of the awards, and this video is our particular favourite.
