Nothing is impossible! The world-famous Impossible plant-based meat has taken Hong Kong by storm in the past few years, but up until now, it has only been available at restaurants. Now, for the first time, fans of the protein can purchase Impossible meat to cook in the comfort of their own homes – part of a new initiative by Impossible Foods to support Hong Kong’s F&B industry during the current COVID-19 crisis.
While similar programmes have been implemented in Singapore and the USA, this is the first time that Impossible products have been made available to consumers in Hong Kong. As the dinnertime dine-in ban continues and more people are eating at home, restaurants have suffered significant losses and continue to face unprecedented challenges. By implementing retail sales of Impossible meat, restaurants will gain an additional revenue stream for takeaway orders – not to mention that vegetarians, flexitarians and carnivores who wish to mix things up will get the opportunity to cook Impossible meat at home for the first time.
Available for purchase are the five-pound (2.27kg) bulk package, Impossible burger brick ($528/pack) and 10-patty pack ($328/pack). You can get your Impossible on at the following spots:
- The Coffee Academics (available for in-store and online ordering)
- CRFT PIT (available for online ordering)
- Gafell (available for online ordering)
- The Butchers Club (available for online ordering)
