In light of COVID-19, we encourage diners to take precautions when going out. You can also support your favourite restaurants by getting takeaway and delivery.
This New Year’s Eve is going to look a little different to celebrations in years gone by, but there are still ways to make it extra special and filled with good food, whether you decide to either (safely) venture out or have your own little party at home.
AMMO’s prime rib delivery
If you want to entertain in style at home, we can recommend AMMO’s party prime rib set for 8 ($2,800). The 3kg, 120-day-aged, grain-fed prime rib is rubbed with mixed herbs and mustard, seared for a golden brown crust, then roasted with rosemary and garlic until medium rare. This gorgeous hunk of meat comes with gravy, sides of maple purple potato mash, roasted Brussels sprouts with pancetta and maple-balsamic glaze and three-cheese brown butter-truffle baked macaroni and chocolate brownies with Madagascan vanilla sauce for afters. Diners can either collect their order from AMMO or have it delivered ($250 delivery charge; delivery to outlying islands is not available). Orders must be placed at least four days in advance.

Black Sheep Restaurants’ COVID-responsible celebrations
In collaboration with Tatler Hong Kong and Prenetics, Black Sheep will be providing rapid, at-the-door COVID-19 tests for all staff and guests who celebrate with them on New Year’s Eve. The festivities are set from 2–6pm on the 31st at five of Black Sheep’s most popular eateries including Carbone, Ho Lee Fook, Rajasthan Rifles, Crown Super Deluxe and Buenos Aires Polo Club. Testing stations will be set up at the entrance of each, giving us peace of mind as we count down to 2021 and emphasising yet again Black Sheep’s laudable and innovative approach to handling the pandemic. Earlier this year, Black Sheep’s SOP: COVID-19 Playbook was named Foodie Forks Editors’ Choice Most Inspiring Initiative, and now they’re ending 2020 “…writing the new rules of hospitality together in a pandemic-ridden world”.

CIAK’s Central branch is offering a good-value Italian set brunch menu ($398/person for 2 courses), on until 3 January. There are several tempting options for each course. CIAK’s stellar pizzas are also main-course option. For dessert, why not splurge and get the restaurant’s signature mixed dessert platter (+$40)?
