Our favourite chocolate wafer brand debuts a luxurious line of 14 flavours by Yasumasa Takagi with a month-long pop-up in the heart of Causeway Bay.
Takagi-san, the executive pastry chef of popular Tokyo-based Le Patissier Takagi and the man behind Japan’s many special KitKat flavours, has created a range of colourfully packaged KitKat bars ($22–26) based around both fruity flavours and cacao grown in volcanic regions. The explosive flavours include yuzu, passion fruit, cassis, matcha and ruby chocolate, just to name a few.
Customers can also take home a special-edition wagashi-inspired ceramic cup and wooden plate by Tokyo-based artist Okamura Yuta ($38). For those with purchases over $100, there’s a free coffee to go along with the treats.
Two cacao-inspired canvas bags ($29 for small or $39 for large) can be purchased alongside your chocolate haul.
The pop-up is on until Sunday, 2 May (daily, 11am–9pm), and you can also head to KitKat Chocolatory retail locations at city’super (Harbour City, ifc mall, New Town Plaza, Times Square), select LOG-ON branches and TASTE Festival Wall or order online at the Nestlé HK eShop to make all your choccy purchases.
