Love is in the air! And with that in mind, here’s our list of the best of Valentine’s Day dining around town – satisfy that foodie-loving heart!

A Lux (14 February)

In terms of romantic countries, France and Italy rank at the top of the list, and Executive Chef Kwan Wai-chung’s passion for both cuisines has been channelled into A Lux’s seven-course Cupid Calls menu (HK$2,880 for 2; +HK$980/person for 6-glass wine pairing). The dishes certainly sound perfect for wooing, from Tarbouriech oysters to start, to duck foie gras mousse with fig and port wine, to blue lobster with lobster bisque, to cod fillet with Japanese clams, to a unique pairing of grilled Australian M8 rib-eye with M7 Wagyu beef cheek.

Amber – The Landmark Mandarin Oriental (14 February)

Ready to impress on V Day? Chef Richard Ekkebus of two-Michelin-starred Amber has created lunch and dinner culinary experiences that will definitely do the job. Guests can choose from four and eight courses that feature ingredients such as Ebisu winter oyster, grass-fed beef and sustainably raised foie gras. The six-course Full Amber Lunch Experience (seating between 12–1:30pm) is priced at HK$2,788 per person, while the four-course Amber Dinner Experience (seating between 5:30–6:30pm) is priced at HK$2,418 per person – or guests can upgrade to the eight-course Amber Full Dinner Experience (seating between 8:30–9:15pm) at HK$3,798 per person for total gastro bliss.

Ask for Alonzo (from 14 February)

A charming Italian meal is in order on V Day if you book in for Ask for Alonzo’s affordably priced three-course couples’ feast (HK$688 for 2). To start, there’s a selection of Italian cold cuts and cheeses alongside sautéed clams in a spicy white wine broth. Next up, you and your boo can dig into four of the eatery’s most popular pasta dishes – spaghetti carbonara, rigatoni amatriciana, ricotta and spinach ravioli and penne in a four-cheese sauce. For dessert, it’s Alonzo’s signature tiramisu, plus a round of Prosecco on the house. Now, THAT’s amore!

BEDU (14 February)

For flavours that veer from tradition, we’re fans of the Valentine’s Day menu (HK$688/person) at Middle Eastern hotspot BEDU. It includes an assortment of creative sharing mezze (the lavender-infused honey-baked feta sounds divine), a main of confit duck pastilla accompanied by golden rice pilaf with wild mushrooms and berries and a special peppered strawberry crumble dessert (pictured above) crafted by Folie, a soon-to-debut dessert space just down the block.

BELON (13–19 February)

If you’re looking for a bespoke V-Day experience and have a decent amount to spend, Blacks Sheep Restaurants is offering this very special package that sets the bar extremely high. BELON’s Extraordinary Evening at the chef’s counter starts with your own driver whisking you and your special someone to the Michelin-starred neo-Parisian restaurant, where you’ll be met with glasses of bubbly in hand. The dining experience includes multiple courses of off-menu dishes crafted and served by Chef de Cuisine Jacob Zuidervliet, along with dedicated butler service throughout the evening and a parting gift. At an eye-watering price tag of $5,000 per guest, there’s a minimum booking of two, naturally.

Bianco & Rosso (11–12, 14 February)

This Italian restaurant and vermouth specialist has a fun In the Mood for Love set dinner (HK$788 for 2) on the cards for the 11th, 12th and 14th of the month. His-and-her cocktails kick things off, followed by three sharing starters – including the ultimate aphrodisiac of Japanese rock oysters with Oscietra caviar, pictured above – a pasta to share, a choice of main and sharing sweets. Two glasses of Cocchi Dopo Teatro vermouth will send you off on a high.

If you’re dining on the 11th, Bianco & Rosso is putting on a cocktail-making masterclass (HK$988 for 2 inclusive of dinner) at 5pm that evening that also includes a photo of the lovebirds and DIY valentines.

Caprice – Four Seasons (14 February)

Couples who bond over their love of fine dining will be delighted to know that three-Michelin-starred Caprice is indulging them with a one-night-only seven-course Valentine’s Day dinner menu (HK$4,288/person; +HK$2,480/person for wine pairings). Roasted Brittany blue lobster with celeriac and black truffle and daily wild-caught fish with bouillabaisse are amongst the exceptional dishes served up by Chef Guillaume Galliot.

Clarence (throughout February)

Celebrated Michelin-starred chef Olivier Elzer has created an exquisite six-course Valentine’s Day menu (HK$1,388/person) at Clarence that has romance in mind. The culinary journey begins with a light and refreshing starter showcasing Cadoret oysters accented with caviar, watercress foam and grenadine jelly and continues on with highlights including John Dory with sweetcorn cream and black truffle and charcoal-grilled beef tenderloin served with heart-shaped crispy potatoes and Jack Daniel’s butter emulsion. The showstopping grand finale features Le Cœur en Chocolat, a heart-shaped layered chocolate dessert, pictured above.

CulinArt 1862 (14 February)

Want a little action before dinner? CulinArt 1862’s special Western kaiseki set menu comes with an edible rose workshop prior to the meal (4–6pm). The exclusive five-course dinner (HK$2,588 for 2; +HK$988/person for wine pairings) has been designed by Chef Stanley Wong and includes dishes such as diver scallop carpaccio, quail crepinette with black truffle, Boston lobster ravioli, two main course options (black cod fillet or Wagyu striploin), lychee and raspberry mouse and rose chocolate crème brûlée cake. A four-course set lunch menu (HK$1,688 for 2; +HK$688/person for wine pairings) is available for couples in search of a daytime celebration.

Cultivate (14 February)

Cultivate’s first-ever Valentine’s Day dinner menu (HK$2,488/person) sees Chef Leonard Cheung crafting refined seasonal dishes that are awash in the romantic colours of pink and red. There are canapés of venison tartare with arima sansho, ratatouille and hamachi, a rhubarb dish featuring amaebi, osmanthus and rainbow beet, a dish dubbed Valentines that pairs cacao and cherry with foie gras snow, Korean strawberries with bluefin akami noodles, strawberry gazpacho and Sichuan peppercorn, truffle-laced tournedos Rossini served with heart-shaped potatoes and more whimsical wonders. In typical Cultivate style, the meal concludes with a selection of both sweet and savoury desserts – including a delightful Strawberry Picnic, pictured above. Seating times at 6:30pm, 7:15pm (for a private table) and 8:15pm.

FINDS – The Luxe Manor (10–14 February)

Nordic restaurant FINDS is offering a five-course Heartfelt Love set dinner menu (HK$1,688 for 2; +HK$188/person for wine pairings) with a signature Nordic touch. The menu includes a rose-flavoured martini, poached French oysters, Hokkaido scallop tartare, Norwegian salmon soup with langoustine, a choice of main (either Atlantic lobster with foie gras or Snake River Farms Wagyu beef tenderloin) and raspberry mousse cake with homemade lingonberry sorbet. Bookings made until 5 February can enjoy an early-bird discount of 15% and a complimentary cocktail class where a pro bartender will guide couples to prepare their own V-Day tipples.

Giardino – The Fullerton Ocean Park (11 & 14 February)

In celebration of the most romantic day of the year, Giardino, The Fullerton’s private-event Italian restaurant with stunning panoramic sea views, will be opened to the public for exclusive dining experiences on 11 and 14 February. The six-course Valentine’s Day set dinner menu (HK$1,688 for 2; +HK$388/person for 3-glass wine pairing) features foie gras torchon lollipop, sous-vide sustainable Canadian lobster, smoked crispy lasagne, charcoal-grilled veal tenderloin, 70% Valrhona Guanaja chocolate crémeux cake and raspberry sorbet. A vegetarian V-Day menu (HK$1,488 for 2) is available for plant-based diners. We recommend arriving before dark to take in the gorgeous views, with or without selfies.

LPM Restaurant & Bar (14 February)

LPM is honouring the day of love with a special three-course Valentine’s Day menu (HK$988/person) of French-Mediterranean favourites such as foie gras terrine, amberjack carpaccio with green apple dressing, homemade tagliolini with lobster, baked whole sea bream and grilled Sagabuta pork. No amorous meal is complete without dessert, and the star of the sweet treats is this raspberry-vanilla mousse cake topped with raspberries and edible flower petals for an impressive finish to this indulgent meal. To wet your whistle, go for the one-off La Rosette cocktail (HK$148), a heady concoction of St-Germain elderflower liqueur and rosé champers.

Rajasthan Rifles (13–19 February)

The Peak undoubtedly offers an impressive backdrop to cosy up with your guy or gal. One suggestion for a low-key date night there is to pick up a Rajasthan RiflesValentine’s Day hamper (HK$800 for 2), otherwise known as a Picnic on The Peak. It includes a bottle of Prosecco alongside a selection of the eatery’s delicious Anglo-Indian signature dishes. Available for collection at 12pm, 3pm and 6pm.

sky100 x Café 100 (14 February)

The “LOVE is in the AIR” campaign by sky100 presents a few sky-high V-Day celebration packages that are sure to impress your special someone. The Message of Love Standard Package (HK$1,314 for 2) includes two admission tickets to the observation deck at ICC (entry after 5pm), two glasses of wine, a personalised animated message projected onto a nine-metre-tall screen and one framed 6R photo taken by a pro photographer. The Message of Love Premium Package (HK$2,898 for 2) ups the ante to include a bouquet of fresh blooms by Blooms & Blossoms and a champagne celebration set courtesy of Café 100 by The Ritz-Carlton – we’re envisioning a lot of marriage proposals with this one! Sunset Grill – Sheraton Tung Chung (throughout February)

It doesn’t get much cosier than sharing a pot of bubbling fondue, and rooftop eatery Sunset Grill is putting on a fab al-fresco fondue experience on its seaside outdoor terrace this month. There are four sweet and savoury fondue sets to choose from at lunch and dinner – cheese fondue (HK$438) served with boiled potatoes, gherkins, onions and baguette, meat fondue (HK$788) accompanied by tenderloin, flank steak, Duroc pork pluma, pork belly and smoked pancetta and Weiss Galaxie milk or dark chocolate fondue (HK$438). The two sweet versions come with an assortment of churros, strawberries, marshmallows and banana for your dipping pleasure. Even better – upgrade your experience with wine pairings for HK$498. Book a table at golden hour and you’re good to go…

Single and ready to mingle? We heart the idea of Te Quiero Mucho’s singles-only Fiesta de Solteros (HK$388/person). You never know – you might just meet your soulmate at this V-Day Mexican fiesta of all-you-can-eat tacos. We recommend adding on bottomless margaritas (+HK$258/person for 2-hour free-flow) to truly make it a night to remember.

Test Kitchen (10–11 February)

If celebrating Valentine’s Day means hanging out with your BFF, head to Test Kitchen’s new space in Central for their seven-course Girls’ Night Out Galentine’s Day tasting menu (HK$1,380/person), which comes complete with free-flow wine, spirits and Galentine-inspired cocktails. Highlights of the innovative menu by Chef Nico Gellon include winter carabinero, pigeon ragù, pumpkin chawanmushi, yellow chicken, truffle ice cream and more. For your entertainment, a fortune teller has been recruited for tarot-card reading (with all the best rom-com tunes on repeat in the background). It’s party time, ladies!

TMK (14 February)

If you shun all the romance of V Day, check out Pirata Group’s tongue-in-cheek Love is Dead Valentine’s Day dinner (HK$298/person; +HK$150/person for 90-minute free-flow beer and sake) at their funky temakeria TMK. On the menu are signature dishes as well as V-Day specials such as “black heart” maki with seared scallop and and spicy “heart” temaki. This alternative feast ends with a “lonely hearts” monaka – a dessert comprised of matcha-flavoured white chocolate crème, azuki beans and a mochi shell.
