Four Seasons
The Four Seasons has two lovely teatime options this Mother’s Day. At The Lounge, chic fashion-inspired pastries – including Blueberry and Violet Handbag and Lovely Ladies Hat (a marriage of chestnut and Madagascar vanilla) – steal the show, complemented by indulgent savoury bites like crab bouillabaisse vol-au-vent and Boston lobster Thermidor in brioche. If you’re dining there over the Mother’s Day weekend or the preceding weekend, live cooking stations will prepare freshly made pancakes, 20-year chenpi (dried tangerine peel) crème brûlée and Hokkaido ice-cream sundaes. Over at Gallery, a Mother’s Day Afternoon Treat will be served, featuring creative East-meets-West sweets and savouries, with additional live stations at the weekend.

We love the look the Regent’s Mother’s Day afternoon tea set, made even more lavish than usual with the addition of Executive Pastry Chef Andy Yeung’s trio of exquisite delicacies crafted with Mum in mind – Lavender (lemon-mint confit and lavender whipped ganache on rich almond biscuit), Charlotte (ladyfingers with strawberry mousse and violet-berry compote) and Guava (pink guava confit and jasmine-infused ivory chocolate mousse on raspberry-rose sponge). The hotel’s panoramic harbour views add to the sense of occasion.

Relish’s latest picnic offering is this slap-up Mother’s Day picnic spread, which sounds like it would be ideal for an al-fresco afternoon tea outing. Each picnic includes chicken Caesar sandwiches, scones in both Cheddar and matcha-chocolate varieties and almond-citrus cheesecake. It also comes with a charcuterie and cheese board, a three-piece set of Relish’s signature condiment jars (tomato-chilli jam, beetroot-apple relish and pear chutney), as well as – get ready – a whole bottle of house rosé. Everything is packed up in sustainable boxes and wrapped in a reusable canvas bag, with bamboo cutlery included – Mama’s got it covered!

A Lux
A Lux’s Mother’s Day version of its popular Buon Fine Settimana weekend brunch is five courses of pure French-Italian decadence. It begins with a sumptuous seafood platter featuring French oysters, shrimp from Vietnam, clams from the USA, Japanese scallops, Norwegian smoked salmon and Canadian whelks, followed by an array of free-flow antipasti. The next course is a choice of one of Chef Kwan Wai-chun’s impeccable pasta dishes, and then it’s time for the main course, with roasted Spanish suckling pig for two (+HK$398) a special option for Mother’s Day alongside the usual suspects of roasted US rib-eye, sea bass and clams in spinach-butter sauce, Japanese chicken saltimbocca and more. For dessert, Mum’s selections from the restaurant’s dessert trolley will be presented on a customised platter.

The Enclave at The Silveri Hong Kong–MGallery
This elegant modern bistro at The Silveri Hong Kong–MGallery offers Mum a welcome buffet brunch escape from the hustle and bustle of life in the 852 (not to mention wallet-friendly prices). And this brunch gets even better – bottomless Fantinel Prosecco is also part of the Mother’s Day deal (either as is or made into mimosa cocktails). Alongside the salad and grilled veggie bar, the buffet specialities include clam chowder, onion soup, cold cuts and cheeses. A beef rib-eye carvery and BBQ station of sizzling racks of lamb, prawns and sausages are the main headliners. For dessert, a special strawberry cake (pictured at top) will be served to each table.

Chef Peter Find of Hong Kong’s premier fine-dining German restaurant, Heimat, is offering a four-course German-inspired brunch menu celebrating the season’s finest produce – including white asparagus in all its glory. The menu starts with a choice of Spargel Salat, a white asparagus salad levelled up with either Victoria Island smoked salmon or Black Forest ham, or Hering “Hausfrauen Art” (pictured above), a beautiful plate of smoked herring with gherkin, onion and green apple alongside crispy rye bread. The second course features white asparagus soup paired with seared Hokkaido scallop. Veal schnitzel or pan-fried wolffish are the two main options, ending with a dessert that’s near and dear to Chef Find’s heart – rhubarb compote with hazelnut crumble and vanilla ice cream – bringing back childhood memories of his own mother.

The grand Silverbox Ballroom is the location for Hotel ICON’s Mother’s Day brunch buffet to beat ‘em all. INK’s Mother’s Day offering is more breakfast than brunch, but we know first-hand that most mums are up at the crack of dawn with their little ones. With all the pastries and cured meats made in-house, the al-fresco three-course set menu is inclusive of a Gosset Brut Bellini champagne cocktail, plus the aforementioned freshly baked pastries, first in the form of cheese and asparagus quiche, milk bun topped with smoked ocean trout and lemon curd and and mini croissants with apricot jam, Mum can then indulge in a choice of main (perhaps the shredded duck confit, smashed avocado on sourdough or Wagyu steak bavette), ending with another duo of scrumptious baked goods – mango danish and milk-glazed matcha and mascarpone doughnut. Post-brekkie, check out the new Joan Miró exhibit at the Hong Kong Museum of Art next door, to which the eatery is connected.

LucAle
It’s hard to beat a sumptuous salumi spread, and that’s the star of the free-flow Italian brunch at LucAle. The premium salumi and cheeses include 24-month-aged prosciutto, burrata and fresh Mandara buffalo mozzarella. Alongside, mums can indulge in LucAle’s signature brunch-only pizzetta, which combines the texture and flavours of focaccia into a pizza, and a selection of spring salads, from an Italian octopus salad with potato and French beans in a rocket and pesto dressing to a salad of mache and beetroot bathed in a citrus and almond dressing. There’s a choice between the eatery’s beloved deconstructed tiramisu and a Sorrento lemon cream with chocolate and strawberry for dessert. To whet Mum’s whistle, she can knock back unlimited pours of Prosecco, house white and red wine, Peroni beer, Aperol spritz, Campari spritz, mimosa, fresh juices and soft drinks. Lush!
