CaN LaH – European & Nanyang-Style Afternoon Tea
Executive Chef Francis Chong has launched this East-meets-West afternoon tea experience that’s exclusive to the new branch of CaN LaH at Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui. The three-tiered spread features 12 sweet and savoury treats blending Chinese, Western and Malaysian flavours, to include Chinese dim sum bites, Western-style desserts and Nanyang delicacies. Special Malaysian drinks are also available at a special discounted price – think teh tarik, Ipoh white coffee, iced air mata kucing and iced lemongrass ginger with grass jelly.

Conrad Hong Kong – Splendid Summer Colours Afternoon Tea by Lobby Lounge
There’s a new pastry chef on board at Conrad Hong Kong, and Ason Kan has been busy designing this gorgeous afternoon tea celebrating the heady tropical flavours associated with summer. There are delights such as the Coconut Sphere shaped like a mini coconut, Beach Chair (which is actually a passionfruit cream tart) and Sunshine (mango mousse tart). Even the tea stand itself is a work of art, with the base filled with blue liquid to mimic the sea and the stand arriving tableside shrouded in a cloud of dry ice. A refreshing alcohol-free Dragon Cooler (dragon-fruit soda with pineapple, orange and hibiscus) is sure to wet diners’ whistles.

Cordis, Hong Kong – The Wonders of Tea Afternoon Tea by Alibi x Chuan Spa x TEA CHÂTEAU
With this new afternoon tea at Alibi, diners can indulge in an array of savouries and desserts inspired by the traditional Chinese five elements (earth, fire, wood, metal and water) concept of Chuan Spa at Cordis. Two tea-based mocktails and two cups of hot tea from TEA CHÂTEAU’s Wellness series, a hybrid of Chinese and Western medicine, are included. Limited to 15 sets each day.

Eaton HK – Tropical Fiesta! Weekend Afternoon Tea Buffet by The Astor
The Astor’s signature afternoon tea buffet has been transformed into a paradise of tropical flavours. The journey begins at the Western counter, which is offering a new selection of hot and cold dishes like tropical flank steak jazzed up with pineapple and lime. The creative sweets veer towards the fruity end of the spectrum with the likes of ice-cream teppanyaki with mixed berries, guava-mousse cake and mangosteen jelly. Gateway Hotel – Revitalising Oxygenic Afternoon Tea by Three on Canton x Dermalogica
One of our fave skincare brands – Dermalogica – is the partner for this limited-time afternoon tea at Three on Canton. Hotel ICON – 4-Hands French Gastronomic 3-Course Afternoon Tea by GREEN + All about Durian Afternoon Tea by The Market
First up at Hotel ICON, we have an afternoon tea at GREEN that places the spotlight on acclaimed French chef Sébastien Faré, who is now Culinary Executive Chef at La Maison de la Crème Elle & Vire and the Elle & Vire brand ambassador for Hong Kong. Chef Faré is teaming up with HOTEL ICON Executive Chef Danny Ho to present a three-course afternoon tea with loads of French flair. The tea kicks off with a bang with a starter of Wagyu beef consommé with foie gras ravioli, followed by a choice of pasta dish (sesame tuna with sour cream and fettuccine, black-truffle-stuffed chicken with linguine in truffle sauce and squid-ink tagliatelle with lobster tail in tomato sauce). The assortment of sweets that follows is varied and exquisite, as is always the case at GREEN for afternoon tea. Free-flow French frozen yoghurt is included.

But if it’s durian you’re after, head to The Market instead. This durian-centric afternoon tea feast offers more than 10 highly creative sweet and savoury items by Executive Chef and “Prince of Durian” Danny Ho – think D’Putera durian puff with white coffee cream, coconut sugar kinako sponge with D197 durian kaya roulade, coconut-pandan-durian Cheddar cheese layer cake and more. Also included is a a durian fruit platter showcasing the D’Putera, D163 Horlor and D101 varieties and unlimited serves of various durian desserts, such as homemade croissant with durian soft serve and coconut-durian cendol, from the buffet spread.

HUE Dining – Dear Myself Afternoon Tea x mtm labo
Spotlighting the iconic flavours of Oz, HUE Dining’s newest teatime bites also incorporate Japanese skincare brand mtm labo’s signature custom-blended eye mask ingredients and botanical extracts. This translates to an assortment of delectable sweets and savouries, from artichoke-custard tart, Gruyère and soybean croquette with wasabi mayo and cured trout and cod’s roe milk bun to sakura-cheese tart, peach-cream Japanese roll cake and aloe-jelly and lemon-cucumber panna cotta. The hojicha scones are the real highlight for us, served with yuzu cream, clotted cream and raspberry jam.

Island Shangri-La’s immersive afternoon tea has been designed as part of the hotel’s limited-time vintage tram installation in the lobby. Decorated with a charming butterfly theme, the delicate bites crafted by Executive Chef Uwe Opocensky and Executive Pastry Chef Julien Gourmelon include the beauties that are the Sakura Butterfly (sakura mousse with strawberry confit and soufflé sponge cake), Hummingbird Chocolate (Vietnamese single-origin 70% chocolate mousse, caramel jelly and hazelnut sponge) and a sweet-meets-savoury foie gras eclair, made with foie gras mousse, rhubarb paste and balsamic gel.

When the world outside is hectic and sweaty, the vibrant colours of this afternoon tea will put you in the right summer-chilling mood. The Luxe Manor – Snowy Summer Nordic Choc-Odyssey Chocolate Fondue Afternoon Tea by FINDS
FINDS’ latest Nordic-inspired afternoon tea is loaded with all sorts of goodies, from mini Danish smørrebrøds (open-faced sarnies), to the eatery’s signature salmon pastrami in a waffle cone, to lingonberry cheesecake. To beat the heat, Mandarin Oriental’s afternoon tea offering this summer is in partnership with Saicho, the single-origin cold-brew sparkling tea brand, available at both Café Causette and Clipper Lounge. Executive Pastry Chef Daniel Texter has curated a menu that highlights the finest seasonal produce, vibrant colours and fresh flavours associated with summertime. Of the sweet treats, the 60th-anniversary-special Tropical Slice (coconut sponge with mango cream, coconut flakes and mango gel) and organic strawberry tartlet with lemon myrtle and vanilla custard are standouts, while the MO’s refined finger sandwiches and pea and morel pastry are savoury contenders.

Marco Polo HongKong – Dearest Afternoon Tea by Cucina x Kate Spade
Italian restaurant Cucina is offering this limited-time afternoon tea inspired by the launch of iconic American fashion brand Kate Spade’s newest fragrance, Chérie, with its fruity, floral and musky notes. The key flavours of red currant, raspberry, Italian mandarin, sweet pea and rose are showcased in aromatic, red-hued sweets and savouries like smoked salmon with caviar, bruschetta with beetroot, avocado and feta, red-currant panna cotta and a glorious sweet strawberry “caviar” that pops in the mouth. To celebrate the launch of this branded afternoon tea, two romantic beverages – Francine (Absolut Mandrin, lemon, raspberry, orange and cherry) and Flora (raspberry Monin syrup, cream, raspberry-nectar tea, rose water and rose petal) – will also be presented.

If you’re cutting back on dairy but still want to enjoy a slap-up afternoon tea, we recommend this seasonal offering at Moxie in collaboration with Mother Pearl, a home-grown bubble tea brand. The dairy-free and vegan tea set curated by Chef de Cuisine Michael Smith is comprised of three savoury bites and four sweet pastries made with seasonal and sustainable ingredients and a choice of two special drinks courtesy of Mother Pearl; we love the sound of the Yuen Yeung 2.0, a riff on the classic HK milk tea and coffee mix with molasses and tea jelly.

Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West – All Things Durian Weekend Afternoon Tea Buffet by Café Circles
The all-day-dining restaurant at Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West is placing the focus on the fruit of durian this summer – in particular, D24 durian from Malaysia, which is considered one of the most premium varieties (and slightly less pungent in aroma). Sweet treats flavoured with durian include durian pandan cake, durian crème brûlée, durian panna cotta, durian chocolate truffle tart, durian mochi, durian cheese tart, chilled mango sago cream with pomelo and durian and deep-fried durian ball, but there are non-durian fruity delights – like yuzu mousse cake, Kyoho grape parfait cup and red bean crystal mochi – to appease those who are sometimes overwhelmed by the fruit’s, shall we say, unique flavour. Savoury bites also get a look-in, in the form of appetisers and hot dishes such as watermelon and feta salad, fried chicken with salted egg yolk and grilled-to-order skewers. All you can eat!

The Peninsula – Afternoon Tea on the Harbour
Celebrating its incredible 95th anniversary this year, The Peninsula joined forces with another HK icon – the Star Ferry, this year marking 125 years of service – to offer a special limited-time afternoon tea experience aboard the lavishly outfitted Star Ferry dubbed World Star. The overwhelming response to this one-of-a-kind voyage since its launch in March has led the hotel to extend this exclusive experience. The additional Peninsula Afternoon Tea Voyage on a Special Sailing will take guests on a special route between Tsim Sha Tsui and the Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Link, with a stop in the waters off Tamar Park in Central to have the chance to view the new “Double Ducks” art installation by renowned artist Florentijn Hofman, which has returned to the city after a decade.

Regent Hong Kong – Summer-inspired Afternoon Tea
Newly opened Regent Hong Kong entered the afternoon tea scene with a bang with its scrumptious teatime offerings at The Lobby Lounge – not to mention those breathtaking views… Executive Pastry Chef Andy Yeung has designed a classic, seasonally updated afternoon tea set that features a three-tiered selection of homemade finger sandwiches, mini versions of his glorious cakes, scones and madeleines, accompanied by clotted cream and homemade jams. For summer, two amuse-bouche offerings – warm “instant” curdled ginger milk and chilled ceviche – and homemade lemon sorbet add a refreshing note to the afternoon tea experience. We highly recommend adding on glasses of the lightly effervescent bottled Bellini cocktail by Sei Bellissimi, a delightful combo of Moscatel and peach pulp.

The Ritz has debuted two afternoon teas this summer.
A collaborative afternoon tea offering that partners with iconic British perfume house Penhaligon’s is being offered at Café 103. The talented team of chefs at the luxury hotel have analysed the properties of the brand’s Luna Eau de Toilette and Solaris Eau de Parfum and infused the hero ingredients into a series of sophisticated bites. Savoury options include orange and scallop mini sandwich and foie gras mousse with juniper berry and rose-petal gel, while rose-lychee mousse with jasmine tea verrine and lemon cheesecake with orange cream and cassis gelée are highlights on the sweet side.

Sheraton Tung Chung’s summery afternoon tea is pure indulgence, featuring bottomless Häagen-Dazs x Pierre Hermé ice cream and unique savoury macarons. The savoury macarons are a twist on the traditional French treat, offering a range of flavours that include smoked salmon mousse, burrata and prosciutto mousse, foie gras and avocado and goat cheese. In addition to sweets like double chocolate and hazelnut cake, strawberry and raspberry tart and yuzu and lemon canelé, the set is highlighted by an ice cream collab that blends the rich ice cream for which Häagen-Dazs is famous with Pierre Hermé’s iconic macarons.

The Drawing Room at The St. Regis is kicking off summer with refined pastries and savouries that are made with the finest locally sourced ingredients – a delicious way to celebrate home-grown produce. Local tomatoes and watermelon are used in the Sunny Cherry Tomato, and locally grown lychee and lychee honey are the main ingredients in the aromatic lychee mousse. The luggage-inspired afternoon tea set by Executive Chef Cary Docherty and Pastry Chef Victor Chan focuses on light, bright global flavours. This translates to savouries like lobster and caviar tartlet and chicken, girolle and black truffle finger sandwich, while caramel mousse with brandy jelly and peach melba delight on the sweet side.
