Pizza purists, don’t look this way. Pizza Punk, a new addition to the tomato-cheese scene here in Hong Kong, is expecting to challenge what we think of our favourite slices and pizzas. Created by Twins Kitchen’s Caleb and Josh Ng, the out-of-the-box pizza concept is bringing new, wacky flavours to Hong Kong.
Watch out for Spicy Tofu Madness (HKD132), matching a hot and spicy Sichuan sauce, which replaces the traditional tomato sauce, with chives and tofu puffs. Okonomiyaki Odyssey (HKD132) introduces smoky flavours with baby octopus, BBQ sauce, Kewpie mayo, and bonito flakes.
Pizza Punk pies use a 48-hour slow-proofed dough that enhances the textural profile of their pizza. The sourdough pizzas are tasty for a reason, and that’s why the F.U. (HKD132) shines with its toppings of fu yu (fermented tofu) cream cheese, Thai chilli, sage, and oxalis (wood sorrel) for a fermented bite.
A pizza set on foodpanda costs HKD126 (normally HKD168), including a 10-inch pizza of choice, one snack, and a drink. Currently, all pizzas are 30% off on foodpanda, so hurry before the grand-opening sale is over.
Pizza Punk is only available to order on foodpanda, however, lucky Hong Kongers can enjoy their pies at two pop-up events in March. On Mar. 3 from 1–9PM, head to Glass Gardener on Lyndhurst Terrace to enjoy curated cocktails plus pizzas. From Mar. 14–16, mato at Nan Fung Place is hosting a set menu (HKD250) that features a starter, pizza, and ice cream to please pizza-starved locals.
Order Pizza Punk only on foodpanda here.
