Opened last June, Bar Leone has quickly risen to the top of Hong Kong’s best bars list, beloved for founder Lorenzo Antinori’s immaculate Italian cocktails paired with equally delicious bites. This month, it’s time for the bar to celebrate its first anniversary in wordly style!

On three Sundays and one Thursday from the end of May, Lorenzo has invited top bartenders from across Europe to work their cocktail magic at the Roman-inspired watering hole, matching their drinks with food crafted by some of Hong Kong’s hottest culinary talents.

First up on May 26, Simone Caporale – who is also the co-founder of The World’s Best Bar 2023, Barcelona’s SIPS – is taking over Bar Leone with Boadas Cocktails, the oldest cocktail bar in Barcelona. Chef Rafa Gil from La Rambla by Catalunya will be providing complementary Spanish plates.

On Jun. 2, Bar Leone will host Hedda Bruce, the bar manager from Stockholm’s iconic cocktail bar Tjoget, placing number 93 on The World’s Best Bars 2023. Hedda’s creative cocktails will be served alongside Swedish-inspired snacks by chef Jim Löfdhal of Nordic fine-diner Embla.

Bar manager Keïla Urzaiz de Calignon from Satan’s Whiskers in London, which ranks at number 28 on The World’s Best Bars 2023, is up next at Bar Leone on Jun. 9. Keila will be joined by chef Mark Catchpole from Michelin-starred Roganic with his refined British snacks.

Finally, Bar Leone honours its heritage with the appearance of Riccardo Rossi, the bar manager of Freni e Frizioni in Rome, on Jun. 27. Starring alongside the Roman bar, which comes in at number 33 on The World’s Best Bars 2023, are Roman-inspired plates by chef Marco Xodo of Italian trattoria Testina.

These four celebratory guest shifts are set to run from 7PM till 10PM. Before each session (barring the last), the respective bartenders will be hosting mixology masterclasses from 2PM till 3PM. Please email tuttobene@barleonehk.com to reserve your seats for these workshops.
