Worth seeking out for quality Hong Kong-style hotpot, Shing Kee Noodles calls one of Sha Tin’s public housing estates home. In the evenings, the eatery is well known in the ‘hood for offering fresh meat, handmade dumplings, and a variety of flavourful broths.

Shing Kee’s quirky indoor-outdoor space, decked out with retro tchotchkes and knickknacks that transport diners straight to the 80s, straddles the line between nostalgic and trendy – and makes us feel right at home.

If you head to Shing Kee at lunchtime, there’s no hotpot, but instead you can dig into cherished local eats like braised beef brisket noodles (HKD52), shrimp wonton noodles (HKD32), and boneless soy chicken (HKD52).
