Soho’s buzzing izakaya Fukuro welcomes chef Kazunari “Kazu” Araki to throw twists in the kitchen and introduce a new menu to continue the restaurant’s legacy after six years dishing out charcoal-grilled bites and sake.
Having previously led Nobu New York and Boston as head sushi chef and executive head chef at Sushiyoshi and Kakure in Hong Kong, chef Kazu arrives with three decades of experience under his belt.
New small dishes and bites like the pepper chicken karaage (HKD138), sashimi ume (from HKD238), bigeye tuna zuke (HKD208), and market fish tataki (HKD178) present a new direction to the restaurant with sharing central to the Japanese meal.
For those who can stomach large plates, the new kimchi kama (HKD238), mentaiko pasta (HKD228), and mabo tofu ramen (HKD178) are more filling options for larger groups.
