As part of the Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui’s 15th-anniversary celebrations, the hotel’s traditional European fine-dining restaurant, Hugo’s, is joining the action with the debut of two limited-time set dinner menus.

Hugo’s itself has a storied history, founded in 1969 at Hong Kong’s first Hyatt hotel and then reincarnated at the Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui when the hotel opened in 2009. To mark the hotel’s 15th anniversary, executive sous-chef Eric Taluy presents two four-course set dinner menus, which can be ordered from Oct. 1 till Oct. 31

Both menus showcase Hugo’s classic European signature dishes, including lobster bisque, Dover sole meunière, steak au poivre, and rum baba. The 2009 Classic Edition menu is priced at HKD888 per person. The wine-paired 2009 Vintage Edition menu costs HKD1,388 per person and comes with three glasses of wine.

The restaurant, which is named after fictional Bavarian host Herr Hugo Ludwig Wilhelm, has a castle-like interior featuring decorations from the original 1969 restaurant – think ornate mirrors, chandeliers, shield plaques, genuine Ming vases, and even a suit of armour standing guard at the entrance. Also hailing from the 1960s are Hugo’s roving Christofle hors d’oeuvres and dessert trolleys, amplifying the eatery’s timeless elegance.
