Shelley Tai, founder and mixologist behind Mius in Hong Kong, has won the Altos Bartenders’ Bartender Award 2026, announced by Asia’s 50 Best Bars today.

The award, voted by Asia’s best bartenders from bars ranked on the 2026 list, is part of a series of special awards bestowed to figures of the region’s bar industry and announced ahead of Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026 in Macau on Jul. 28.

With a drinks resume stretching from FINDS and Quinary in Hong Kong to a role of operations director for Singapore’s leading bar Nutmeg & Clove, the award “recognises an individual who has made a significant, positive impact on the bar industry, celebrating outstanding hospitality, industry leadership and contribution to the cocktail community.”

The late summer opening of Mius represented a homecoming of Shelley returning from a five-year stint in Singapore to bring cocktail making back to the basics with classics with a twist.

Mius won the Best Bar and Readers’ Choice – Best Bar awards at the Foodie Forks 2026.
