The Art of Good Eating: This spring, as Hong Kong welcomes akaleidoscope of cultural events, one of which being the always highlyanticipated Art Basel, the chefs at iconic Peninsula’s Felixrestaurant unveils an unique art-inspired tasting menu thatcaptivates diners on a multi-sensory journey to culinary euphoria.The five-course dinner menu comes from the creative imagination ofChef Yoshiharu Kaji, who credited the expressive world of art, music,perfume and architecture as his muses. The tailored menu iscomplimented by five wines from five different countries, rangingfrom a Grover 2014 from India, to a Koshu white from Japan and a L.A.Cetto Petit Sirah from Mexico.
Edible Art: Headlining the menu arewhimsical dishes such as the affectionately named “England andMusic” which features a clever twist to the British comfort foodclassics of Scotch egg and cheese bacon muffin, set against asilhouette of a certain famous foursome band from Liverpool. Payinghomage to Chef Kaji’s homeland, the “Toshusai Sharaku – Ukiyo-e”dish of Canadian spot shrimp and horned turban shell snail inherb-garlic butter is set against the print artwork of the famousJapanese artist. Journeying to the exotic land of spices, India, theTaj Mahal dish consists of a skewer of quail breast with tandooricrumble, plated on top of a column reminiscent of the architecturalwonder. From Russia, with love, comes a plate of pan-fried rockfishand foie gras in borscht sauce, against a backdrop inspired byTchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake”, while the dessert teases with analluring blend of raspberry meringue, red fruit salad andyogurt-strawberry ice cream.
Limited Time Exhibition: This exclusivemenu is available from March to April, during the dinner service tothe tune of $1,038 per person or $1,588 with wine pairing. A truefeast for all the senses.
