Along with his British celeb-chef compatriot Jamie Oliver, whose Jamie’s Kitchen branches closed their doors in Hong Kong and Taiwan last month, Gordon Ramsay’s three restaurants in Hong Kong, opened in partnership with restaurant group Dining Concepts, have abruptly closed as of today.

First to open in Hong Kong was modern British restaurant Bread Street Kitchen, which debuted in Central in early 2015 and then relocated to The Peak right around a year ago.

With his first HK foray a success, Chef Ramsay opened two more restaurants in the 852 in autumn 2018 – pub and grill London House and contemporary steakhouse maze Grill – both in Tsim Sha Tsui.

Fast-forward just 18 months later and we see COVID-19 wreaking havoc around the world, with both big and little players in the F&B industry trying desperately to survive – and the players don’t get much bigger than Gordon Ramsay...
