Brie cheese, what can we say about brie that the internet hasn’t already said about it with more devotion? Brie is an amazing ingredient, rich, creamy, just a little fancy and terrifically easy to over-eat.
But, sometimes it is hard to know what to do with brie. Sure, it’s good on crackers. But, brie is a strong, independent cheese. It deserves more than being chopped up with a butter knife, slapped onto saltines and eaten unabashedly over a sink. Here are some amazing recipes to raise your brie game to the next level.
1. Savory Baked Brie with Sundried Tomatoes and Capers
In the same vein of the much loved brie and crackers, this traditional party favorite takes the hurried appetizer and whips it into an impressive hor d’oeuvre. It helps that it is one of the easiest recipes, we have seen in a long time. Also, always eat capers, they are amazing.
2. Tomato, Basil and Brie Soup
We already know that brie cheese and tomatoes are a match made in heaven. In our opinion, this match is only made better brewing it into a creamy soup that can be sipped out of a mug. This recipe is perfect for nights where you are feeling a little cold or maybe just want to treat yourself to a calming dinner.
3. Grilled Cheese with Fig Jam, Brie, Smoked Ham and Arugula
This recipe takes your American cheese and wonder bread grilled cheese and spins it on its head. Brie is paired with the bite of fresh arugula, and the sweetness of fig jam for an indulgent grilled sandwich. The only problem is that your friends may start to judge you for eating grilled cheeses for every other meal. Apparently, it is your fault that they are delicious?
4. Caramelized Onion, Apple, Bacon and Brie Pizza
Who doesn’t love pizza, piled high with delicious toppings? This recipe combines our beloved brie, with bacon, onions, and the surprisingly delicious green apples. In our minds, pizza, plus brie equals delicious squared. (We didn’t do well in math.)
5. Fig and Toasted Almond Baked Brie
Similar to our first entry, there are some amazing sweet variations on baked brie. Delicious, easy and impressive, this recipe for toasted almond and fig baked brie can be served with fruit or wheat crackers or anything you deem dippable. This brie will liven up dinner parties, potlucks or a night-in, spent wearing bunny slippers and no pants.
6. Leek, Bacon, Mustard and Brie Quiche
If quiche was never your favorite thing, the egg always a little bland and the American cheese making for more of an ordeal than a meal, try this recipe. The bold flavors of the leeks and mustard compliment the subtleness of the brie and egg, making for a knock-out brunch. This amazing quiche will go leaps and bounds to show that girl that were worth swiping right for.
