In partnership with NOC
The coffee brand that was voted by our readers as the Best Café at our recent Foodie Forks awards is further expanding its aromatic vibes to the area named after the Chinese goddess of the Sea, Tin Hau. This chic yet peaceful district will provide the perfect backdrop for the latest of NOC’s minimalist coffee-shop spaces.
This is NOC’s seventh store, and the brand continues to gain ground as Hong Kong’s favourite place to stop for a sip that’s full of NOC’s own house-roasted beans. The NOC concept was crafted by Sam Chan (the first-ever HK Barista Champion) and Benny Leung, a duo that care passionately about coffee, service and sustainability.
NOC roasts all its beans on-site at its roastery in Sai Ying Pun and uses its La Marzocco Linea PB espresso machines to create each cup of its No 18 and No 34, along with a seasonal selection of single origins as pour-overs.
The Tin Hau shop will be serving up a menu of healthy, seasonal food choices like scrambled crab toast and loaded potato waffle.
The 1,700-square-foot space aims to be an urban sanctuary where the understated design doesn’t confuse the senses, leaving guests free to enjoy their coffee without distraction and escape their hectic business lives. Floor-to-ceiling windows maximise the natural light, working harmoniously with the natural woods and smooth concrete finishes.
This home-grown Hong Kong company has plans to take the simplicity, innovation and dedication they’ve poured into NOC’s concept to international locations in the very near future, so guests can look forward to being able to find a cup of their favourite coffee while away from home.
The Mercury Street shop in Tin Hau will open its doors this Friday, 7 June 2019 at 11am, and the first 50 customers will receive a free beverage and pin from NOC’s own line of merch as a keepsake. After that, they will be serving coffee and smiles as usual daily,
8am–6pm.
23 Mercury Street, Tin Hau, 3619 7500
