Ahead of the official MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2024 awards ceremony on Mar. 14, MICHELIN has unveiled seven new restaurants joining the ranks for a Bib Gourmand distinction by inspectors in Hong Kong, bringing the Bib Gourmand number to a total of 67 value-for-money eateries in the city.
Sheung Wan-based Vietnamese restaurant Ăn Chơi claims a Bib Gourmand award in the 2024 guide for its undeniable mission to serve lively and authentic Vietnamese plates packed with umami. Little Napoli graduates from MICHELIN Selected to Bib Gourmand territory, beloved by many for its Neapolitan pizza.
Public housing-estate-located Man Yuen cooks Cantonese classics using fresh ingredients found locally and regionally, becoming a cult favourite in East Kowloon. Relocating in Wan Chai, Sang Kee has returned to the Bib Gourmand list with a menu unchanged, still selling its signature salt-baked chicken. Cheung Hing Kee (Tsim Sha Tsui) has long been popular for its piping-hot and juicy sheng jian bao, or pan-fried pork buns.
In Sai Ying Pun, Sang Kee Foods is awarded for its excellence in deconstructing geese for the eatery’s famed Chiuchow-style marinated goose. Recently joining BaseHall 02 with a new store, Twins Liangpi Limited (Mong Kok), moving from Prince Edward, is a Hong Kong favourite, adored for its glass noodles with spicy Sichuan sauce.
