The Michelin Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2025 released in mid-March and unveiled its collection of the best restaurants in the city, including the most fancy of venues, and spots offering a bang for your buck.
Whilst we concede that dining in Hong Kong can get expensive, it doesn’t have to be! Some of Hong Kong’s cheapest and most flavourful eateries have earned themselves a Michelin star, recognising their supreme quality and flavours.

1. Yat Lok

With lines that won’t quit and tourists fawning over Yat Lok, there is a reason this place attracts many through its doors. Their combination meal of any chicken, BBQ crispy pork, or goose cut, and white rice (HKD72) is a filling bite, offering just enough food suitable for a lunch or dinner. Be aware, both day and nighttime services are busy so prepare to rush out as soon as you clean your plate!

2. Kam’s Roast Goose

Beckoning a massive queue almost every day, there is a reason people are eager to chase after their Michelin star goose. At Kam’s Roast Goose, we recommend that you heard early to snag yourself a seat and an order of roast goose on rice (HKD74). It is their signature, packed with crispy textures and salty flavours. Make sure to douse your meat with plum sauce for an added sweetness and their garlic scallion sauce for some tartness.

3. Ho Hung Kee

Ho Hung Kee has enjoyed Michelin star status since 2010, one of the longest records in Hong Kong. Alongside their specialty congee and wonton noodle soup, their stir fried beef with bell pepper & black bean sauce (HKD138) is worth a visit. Their soy sauce-washed flat rice noodles are fried with tender beef cuts and an umami-rich black bean sauce.

4. Yè Shanghai (Tsim Sha Tsui)

Lauded for its attention to detail with the quaint side of Shanghainese cuisine, Yè Shanghai is a marvelous one Michelin star restaurant that does not break the bank and affords guests a luxury meal with dishes less than HKD150. Their chicken with bean jelly in peanut sauce (HKD65), wagyu beef tongue with coriander (HKD88), and crispy rice cones filling with diced beef (HKD78, 2 pc) all pack a meaty punch without beating your wallet dry.
